Default Scionspeed and ZPI event?

Is there interest for such an event?

ZPI mentioned it and we are curious as well to know if people want this to happen.

If so, where?

Jayson, I am interested in going. I'd say on the east coast. Somewhere in florida, but thats yet to decide. You know what would be nice...is that each company should have several cars there to see how all there kits work on different applications of the tC. Like so...

ZPI RACING SCIONSPEED
1. Scion tc Stage 0 automatic vs. 1. Scion tc Stage 1 automatic
2. Scion tc Stage 0 manual vs. 2. Scion tc Stage 1 manual
3. Scion tc Stage 1 automatic vs. 3. Scion tc Stage 2 automatic
4. Scion tc Stage 1 manual vs. 4. Scion tc Stage 2 manual
5. Scion tc Stage 2 automatic vs. 5. Scion tc Stage 3 automatic
6. Scion tc Stage 2 manual vs. 6. Scion tc Stage 3 manual

Not so much as a stage 3 (Scionspeed) or stage 2 (ZpiRacing) since you have most likely have to do internal engine mods. But at least the first two stages.

This way people with both automatics and 5 speeds can see which kit performs better on there car.

If you don't have automatic kits(hint hint Jayson remember who was first.)... build them fast. I'm sure people in the scion community are interested.

IS THERE INTEREST IN THE SCION COMMUNITY TO SEE THIS CHALLENGE?

I think so. Lets here the opinions of others... and of the turbo kit manufacturers.

I got an idea....how about someone just SHIP THEIR PRODUCT and let the customers decide which kit is best performance, best looking and most reliable.

The consumers will decide how reliable the kit is...but the perfomance issue WILL have to be proven on the track.

You, me and just about every other TC owner on here can drive down to their local track and get an over all idea of "trailer" performance....if we have the kit (trailer because you better have one...as the tow truck ride home can be expensive) .

If ZPI and ScionSpeed want to have a head to head blowout, that would be cool to see. But, I also realize what's done in 12 or 14 seconds down a track has NO relevance to reliability for a kit on my stock engine and drive train.

I say they get their products out the door (which looks like ZPI is way ahead of ScionSpeed) and then hold an event for their Monster Scions and customer street turbo Scions. Much better idea and would be a cool event IMO

We would like to see a Scion TC track day. We don't feel that a ZPI v. Scion Speed day is the way to accomplish this. WE would like to see a co sponsored event with us to bring the community togther. We agree east coast but not Florida that is where every Scion Event is held.

We think that a class that puts our shop cars against theirs would be a fun class.

Okay back to work before Scion dad bombs our shop..........

No way ......I don't want to delay your sweet product another day Then my shop will get bombed

ZPI....great idea and would be a cool co-sponsored friendly event. Isn't Gateway International or Kansas City International in the middle? We could probably get a few local dealers to help sponsor the event with you guys.

Sciondad, regardless of what we post on the forums we are always working towards getting the kits shipped! That is a given.

There is obviously some interest here. Different people would like to see different things happen at such an event. Perhaps something will come of this.

Regards,

Alexy

Things I would like to see:

1) real world comparisons of the entry level and mid level kits; i.e. a track run, and/or a quarter mile run.

2) independent dyno tests. Yes, I know ZPI and Scionspeed have done their own dynos, under their own conditions. I want to see what a third party can do, with the same dyno for both cars.

Personally, I think only good things can happen if ZPI and Scionspeed engage in a little friendly event. It will give consumers a real world comparison of the products; give the manufacturers an idea of how their product performs in comparison to competition, thus allowing the manufacturer to make adjustments to the product lines, if necessary/desired; give the consumer an actual idea of how much "real" performance they are getting per kit (it's easy to state "my kit produces X amount of horspower and cost Y dollars", but seeing that in action, giving the consumers a visual idea of what that looks likes, as well as a comparison to other products, makes a huge difference!

i agree..many people have a/t's and do desire turbo so i hope the companies make them for both the 5 spd and automatics...does the ZPI stage 0 work for auto trannies?

an all scion even in Atlanta or Dallas, Houston has a nice track too..

I agree with ScionDad,,,, go figure,,, that I really don't care if one kit is .25 faster etc I do care that 3 years down the road the wire harness to the emanage is still working. How many ZPI / SS kits will be put on "stock" cars, how many kits will not be tweaked in the first week. Too many variables. Like my car has much lighter rims and far better tires then stock...

Well said, well said. I think Atlanta would be a perfect location. ZPI goes south and SS goes north. Any ideas what toi call the event? Hmmm.

ZPI RACING and SCIONSPEED...

What do you say about the ZPI vs. Scionspeed chart?

We want to see what the kit will perform like out of the box. Not only your cars that are modified with who knows what else.

What does each company have to say?

Why don't you go see www.scionspeed.com
Engine isn't evrything that whill put down horsepower to the wheels. Scionspeed has done extensive work to the transmission. That helps big time with 1/4 mile runs.

I agree Kansas City all the way.. We have the KC Int'l and the Kansas speedway. Isn't HIN in going to be kansas city in a month. I think 7/16. That would be a great time. Thanks!!
