Default selling extended warranty back to dealer?

I have 100k warranty and was wondering what the rules were for selling back the extended warranty.

If you purchased the extended warranty you just need to go back to the Dealership and tell them you want to cancel it.. They will give you back the remainder of the balance that is left on it.. Thats what I did before I got my turbo.. it was quick and easy..worst thing was waiting on the check to process and be sent.

Ask the dealership worst thing they can say is NO.. im sure they would rather keep some of your money.. then not have any of it if you get a refund on it.

jwaggz82 did you finace your car or did you pay for it straight up? Im not sure if your looking to get cash for the refund.. but you wont if you are making payments on it and it wont lessen your monthly payments either.

what did you mean by "They will give you back the remainder of the balance that is left on it."?

I used mine before I cancelled it and had no problems.. Basically using my situation as an example.. When I bought my car I got the extended warranty for like $744 (estimate) 6 months later I decided that I was going to go F/I and decided I didnt nedd the extended warranty. So they prorated my warranty for the 6 months/ 5k miles i had on it and gave me the remainder of the balance I paid of the warranty and hadnt used back..I got like $650 or so back from them in a check..

Hmm. If it was only 700.00 paid in full, it makes me wonder why I'm paying $30.00 extra a month for my extended warranty.

...Everydealer has a way to get more money out of you. The extended warranty from toyota can be sold at any number of prices. It was originally offered to me at 1100. When I quoted the Scion.com price they offered to match it. When I denyed it at that point they said $100 over cost, which was like $600 or something.
