Hey guys.

Im just wondering if any otehr of u fellas have the same problem i have with my tc 5 spd.

sometimes when i go to shift out of 1st gear i press the clutch in and i begin to move the gearshift down to 2, and it just goes in by itself.

Like as soon as i make the SLIGHTEST touch of the shifter.

its kinda hard to describe. it seriously just yanks itself in, like HARD.

lits just like, when i go to shift into 2nd, it does it by itself. like it LITERALLY looks like there is a ghost driving my tc.

does anyone else experience this?

it only happens with 1-2

 

yeah, I know what youre talking about, it makes a little click, and it snaps out like a bat out of hell, out fo your hand, and into second gear. It is odd, only reason i can come up with is that 1st gears ratio is nuts.

 

Seems to usually happen in high RPM's

 

mines done that too. but it does not throw itself all the way to 2nd it still needs some help. it just kicks out of first.

 

It's kind of normal. Just happens occasionally and I doubt there's much you can do about it. Just the right conditions and situation make it happen...

 

im pretty sure its caused by engine/tranny movement. stiffer motor mounts should get rid of it. i get this at higher rpms most of the time but sometimes during normal driving.
