Does any company make a short ram intake for the 07 tC other than Weapon R?

I can't see myself paying almost $300 for a short ram intake, thats more than most cold air's are.

 

Well the Injen is able to convert to a short ram... but why would you bother?

Any specific reason you want SR?

 

Just the fact that water tends to get high here sometimes, the streets suck (big a*s mud puddles)...that type of thing.

 

I'm looking to do this later also. SRI. I just like to keep my low end power, and be safe from hydrolocking.

 

I have the Injen one, just left it as a SRI. Works great.

 

i was in my local Toyota dealership yesterday pickin up my car from service and in the parts department they were selling a TRD intake for the '07 but it wasnt a full cold air. im not to sure if you can convert the TRD cold air into a short ram, but if you do get a TRD cold air, at least it has the bypass valve so water wont get in

 

how does the SRI sound like? And do you feel a difference?

 

i've read somewhere that the TRD comes in two pieces so you can convert it to a SRI.

 

short ram intakes are just NOISE! and cool cosmetic for the bay

 

^^ well you could go on and say that CAI are the same thing. Not worth it either way.

i remember my cousin telling me that cold air adds like what....2 extra horse power.

 

Your not really going to notice an EXTREME amount of power out of wither one - for the most part it is for looks - not the little bit of horsepower you gain...the best dynos ive ever seen were like 8HP and it was even noted that it was a particularly cool day...

 

But it sure looks pretty.......... now i am making duct work to run into the engine compartment to feed it fresh air.........

Your best bet for short ram on an 07 would be the Injen cold air / short ram intake. K&N makes a short ram that performs better than their cold air intake, but it's only available for 05-06. Cold Air: 6hp @ 5200rpm Short Ram 7.58hp @ 5022rpm. K&N Short Ram Intake. Not bad for a short ram.

 

Back on the topic of short rams for 07+ TC's......are there any besides the Secret Weapon and besides the CAI's that you just don't use the other half? I, too, think $250+ for a short ram is CRAZY expensive.
