Default Short Ram Intake?

Opinions? I have a cold air intake from K&N right now and I had the bracket mess up. I so took the bracket off and zip tied to the tube up so it would hold better, but now it makes noise and the bolts for the other bracket constantly loosen. So if anyone has any suggestions on what to do Im listening. If not I would like to go with the short ram unless its a waste.

I thought short ram doesn't work as well because it's sucking more warmer air from the engine area as apposed to the cold air from the outside?

Thats what I thought but Ive seen a few tC's with it and was curious, Im getting sick of the noise under the hood from the intake moving due to torque of the motor.

I had a CAI on my old '01 Civic and I had the exact same problems... loosening, and loud noise with the torque. plus it only gave me about an extra 4 wheel horsepower and for 400.00 total and then having those issues it just wasn't worth it to me.... The TRD racing exhaust on my '07 tC gave me an extra 8 wheel horsepower and it was 360.00 total... plus I noticed a difference. I dunno, whatever floats your boat.

a short ram wont give you an increase in hp like the cai BUT it is better then stock. it still gives you an increase in hp and better flow. im running the injen cai converted to short ram with the HKS hi power and i noticed a difference. did you try using thread lock on the bolts? that will keep them from loosening up on you use blue thread lock cause the red you wont get the bolt off again lol.

get something rubber and put ti between the intake and whatever you zip tied it to. if the rubbers thick enough. it should stock. no jerry riggin. HAHA. call k&n or whatever you bought it from and request a new one.

At the end of the day IMHO and most people...
if you go with CAI you get colder air but you see benefits at top end and your reaction
gets weaker due to lag(longer way for air to travel to engine)
But short ram you might get a bit hotter air but reaction is better, just wrap it in
header wrap to get it colder.

i agree with reiko, cai will benefit u in the high end...while shortram will benefit u in the low end...so if ur doing any of those short distance races (1/8 mile), go with shortram...if ur doing long distance racing, go cai...i dont think the diff is that much anyway.

and regarding the trd exhaust...it does not give u 8whp...thats crap. at most, myb 2 or 3...or less.
