I finally installed my headers today. Here's a sound clip my tC with a K & N Typhoon CAI, DC 4-1 headers and a TRD Exhaust. The headers made the TRD exhaust ALOT louder. You get a constant high pitch noise when you're crusing on the highway and its actually louder in the car than it is outside. I might even put my stock exhaust back on get a new exhaust if the noise gets to me.

It doesn't sound BAD bad...just a little louder than with just a TRD exhaust. You're right though, it does sound "ricey", but a lot of people like that...and some people hate it...

 

Glad I opted not to get the TRD Exhaust. Congrats though on getting everything installed.

Thats loud, it sounds like a 93 Accord with a cheap muffler.......sorry but thats what it sounds like. :?

The stock muffler seems like really does its job. I still want to get the header but man thats loud!!!!!!
I wish it was quiet when driving normal and then got loud when under heavy throttle.

 

I like it, dont love it, but about the 'ricey' kind of sound, its in what looks like a fairly tight alley, the sound will echo and sound MUCH louder/ricier because of this. If you could get an open parking lot type video that would be really nice

 

Now that Ive watched the vid a little more it doesnt sound THAT bad.

It would deff. need some getting use to.

Seems like the best vid would be an open parking lot. Put the camera right behind the car. Then take off with WOT.

Something sounds a little funny with the exhaust in the second clip (ricey or cheap), but maybe that's cuz it's not broken in yet...?

#2: when i get a chance ill tape my XB with intake, header, n a borla axleback.. it sounds NOTHING like that.

 

personally i like the wrx tone...very deep and specially with the HISSSS of the BOV~

if you want rice, go get a rice cooker and stick ur exhaust on that~ VRRRWEEEEEE!
