Default SRI

After doing quite a bit of research I've found that the CAI market for the tc1 has many more options than the SRI market. However, I still live in Ohio and anyone else who does can probably also tell you about the bipolar weather and seasons and why I prefer a SRI here rather than a CAI. Here's where I'm at: Injen has the SRI/CAI option, Weapon R has an SRI, HPS, Takeda, K&N has something that resembles one, and there are some knockoff's with no name on ebay. Does anyone know if there are any CAI's with the SRI option as well? (ex: Raceland, TRD, AEM, etc.) As far as I can tell none of them offer an SRI for the tc1. I just like the idea of keeping it out of the snow, puddles, railroad tracks, and potholes in my area. Any help or suggestions are welcome. Please and thank you!

What no name Ram is that exactly? All I've found are name brands for $200+ in SRI's

I got a "no namer" CAI of a local guy here in Rochester... made a couple mods to it and fit her right in!!

sits directly where the old box did, with just a bit of it hanging into the fender... Filter is from Spectre along with the new couplings. I had to make my own gasket for the MAF (flat sheet of material... cut to fit)... the guy before used RTV and made a bit of a mess...

Im right there with you guys on the winter crap... but I still used SRI's in California... Lots of rain and snow where I was at...

No problem. Gonna grab a cheapo CAI off ebay and try to convert it.. if it doesn't work I'm only out a fraction of what a name brand SRI costs

No name SRI = Name brand SRI

It's a tube and filter. Just get whatever.

I never buy "no name", but always recommend it... is that bad?

Not bad at all!!! If a $50 part does the same as a $150 one... then its good! Its the major components that I won't skip out on.

Hell I've seen guys use dryer ducting to make a backyard intake hahaha!!!

Exactly. You will have success with this because the CAI tube will start where the SRI tube ended and you will have plenty room for a filter yada yada before the bend down.

That's how we do it on the oval tracks.

That's the plan! lol worst case scenario find a short filter if it's a tight squeeze.

Noice.

Mine comes out a hole I cut in lower bumper below where the headlight used to be. I have to use a new one every week. It gets gunked up with rubber. Haha!

Used ones work just as well 95% of the time. I got my CAI with K&N filter for $80 of ebay.
