Default Stock alternator output.

I have searched this and other forums for the stock alternator output for the tC on this forum and other forums. I did not see a rating on the alternator itself. I have seen people saying it put out:

75
80
90
95
105
and
115 amps

I trust it is somewhere in that range. I don't think I will be pushing the limits of it, since my amps with only push about 700 watts RMS,
but both Amps are class a/b and fairly inefficient so if the alternator is small enough it would cause some dimming issues.
Thanks in advance.

Nick

So how would that equate to amps?

1200watts/14volts =approx 85 amps?

Between 87 and 96 amps, depending on output. My meter shows average operating voltage at 13.8v, which is an 87A output.

If your electrical system is running 12.5 volts on ANY car, your battery is not charging. A 6 cell lead acid battery requires over 2.15V per cell to charge, that comes out to just shy of 13V. To be able to charge efficiently it should be in the mid 13V range. You will read 12.5V possibly right after shutting the car down, but your charging system is not running 12.5V if it is working. This goes for any car, regardless of anything else. The dependency is on the number of cells in the battery.
