Stock Header or After Market Header?
Hi guys! My mechanic told me today. i have to change my Header to new one.
he said its cost will be expensive as hell.
Now, I have question.
Do I have to change mine to new OEM Header? Or Aftermarket header?
If it doesn't matter, I wanna change mine to After Market Header.
But I saw After Market Header doesn't have cat. Isn't it?
Is that OK to install?? I'm worry about that. Thank you

it was broken inside.

A new OEM header isn't that expensive, and you'll need a new gasket, so another $30 dollars or so.
and depending on the year and mileage on your tc, it would be covered under warranty. anyway...
if you buy a new header, and already have any kind of aftermarket exhaust, your car will sound awful, trust me, i know, so then your car will either sound terrible, and you'll have to spend
more money to make it sound better, and your profile says you live in Cali, so only the OEM header is legal to install on your car. so your options have been narrowed down quite a bit.

I did't change my Exhaust at all. Actually I don't have any interesting of exhaust sound.
So don't worry about my sound
I like tC as it is.
Thank you for replies.

OK, well you should be fine. If you have a stock exhaust. I see you live in Cali. You will need to fab up some mounts to put over the header so it will pass emissions.
Then a anti-fouler on the S-pipe.. then the 2nc cat in the mid pipe will destroy all the gases so you will pass emissions.

Get a stock exhaust mani.
There is no way you will pass smog with a Aftermarket Header in Cali.
And if you ever get pulled over, your ____ed.

If he puts the stock cover over his aftermarket header he will be fine. the 2nd cat in the mid pipe will work jsut as fine and the first to destroy the gases that are in the exhaust fumes.
If Your interested you can buy my DME header. I had to go to a smog referee once and just put my stock exhaust manifold back on. Didn't take me long to do so not much of a hassle. Add some resonators and you're set.
