Default Stock Intake on 2005 tc

I bought a used 2005 tc and it has a cai (injen). I don't feel like maintaining that filter and would like to put a stock system back in (if I could ever find one for short $$). What years do I look for and how do I know if I'm getting all the components to make it stock again? Is the air sensor different or just the stock one adapted to the cai?

You can make the intake a "short ram" and the filter will be in the same location as stock and you still benefit from an intake.

But if you do want to get a stock intake, you need a 2005-2007. In 2008 the MAF changed and will not work.

This thread is peculiar. Do you still have the inner fender liner on the car? If so the filter can go for several thousand miles without needing anything. Unless you can find a wrecked tC at a junkyard or someone selling one on the boards its gonna be a headache tracking down all the stock parts. And if you buy them new you might as well keep the Injen because it won't be cheap.

The filter is sort of in the elements behind the liner and getting to it to clean it is a real pain. I don't know a thing about reusable filters or how to take care of them and I don't have time to. I'd gladly shorten the tube to bring the filter up where it can be accessed and learn how to care for it if it is a viable alternative. Stock would be great though. I'd trade the injen for a stocker, but this car gets used daily and I couldn't wait for the shipping/exchange.

I would, but I don't think I qualify for selling parts on this site.
BTW, I just got a '11 tc and it is a real pooch. I'm thinking it must have 20 HP more than the '05 but it really doesn't feel any different. I'll let the engine break-in before I push it, but sorta disappointing as far as performance and they really cheapened it up a ton!

Even though its a reusable filter, doesn't mean you can't just replace it when it comes time. Thats exactly what I did when it was in the fender. As far as it being in the elements, I disagree because it is covered by the liner pretty well. But to make it a short ram, just disconnect the tube after the maf, pull it out with the filter, and put the filter on where you disconnected the tube at. Should take 20 mins if not less.
