Default Suggestion for a header

I have Injen intake (sri config) and exhaust. I wish to get a header in the near future. Which header should I get? Also, is it true that I can improve low-end torque with a header upgrade?

Thanks in advance!

Get the D/C Sports headers. Very nice and feel big difference.

Helped me Shave off .3 seconds in the 1/4.

Now running 15.3's possibly 15.2's with better 60 foot capabilities.

i have the AW (alphawqerks) header. no complaints and i think it looks way better then the ceramic look of the DC header. it performs just as good as DC too

If your gonna go SRI the MMW offers more power in that configuration.

I think it offers more in all configurations

I was'nt really offering "thawts." MMW shows good gains above 4K but actually loses power below 4K. This is why I got an Injen CAI. Injen cold-air shows strong power gains between 3300-3900 then offers consistent increase all the way to red line. MMW intake is "peaky" yet still better than injen in short-ram configuration.

Sorry about jacking your thread fragroute. The DC shows stronger torque around 3200 than Alphawerks. Alphawerks pulls away from 5500 on. If you do'nt intend to rev your tc past 5500 then DC is definitely the better of the two.

Oh you know what? I thought you were talking about the MMW header because this thread is about headers. My mistake. the MMW header shows better gains than any other header currently available. Thats what I was sayin

He may be right on MMW header. I'm not sure. I found an older MMW header dyno that shows much smaller gains than the current one on the MMW site. Also MMW comes with a S-pipe also a factor.

This is true. However, its not about how much power it makes, but rather when the power comes on. All of the 4-1 headers out (Alphawerks, DC sports, Megan) don't really see power until after 4,000rpm as they were meant for more top end power. The MMW header's 4-2-1 design makes power at 3000 all the wat to redline. The power curve of the MMW is much nicer than the others because it gives more useable power IMO.

i forgot to mention that i have an A/T tC.

sounds like the MMW is a nice option to go. 4-2-1? isn't the stock header also 4-2-1? uhm, i don't rev hard all the time. maybe half the time. hehehh. anyway, getting some power improvements around 3000rpm is good for me.

ah btw, i appreciate the comments on the sri config, but i'm happy with my sri injen intake. it sounds good for me, and it seems that the car goes a little better than before when i didn't have it. it makes me smile a bit when i step on it when the light turns green on stops.

The stock header is a very heavy, very restrictive 4-1.

I notice that you have the Draxas exhaust and the MMW header and s pipe.....

How was the fitment with those two (s-pipe to exhaust) ???
Also do you have the exhaust with the resonator???
How does it sound???

This is the set-up i want but i have the 1st gen exhaust from draxas W/O resonator...so i know that i will need one....what is the size of the resonator in the exhaust?? Diameter and length....sorry for all the questions but i really feel that this is an excellent (BEST) setup and i just want to know that it fits well...i was thinking about the draxas header but MMW is the only one with a cel fix built in....anyway thanks for the help!!!!

The fitment turned out ok. Had to jostle it around abit to get it right, but it works.

I have the DraXas exhaust with resonator and high flow cat. (don't know the resonator size, sorry)

The sound is great. Got a little louder after the header, but not much rasp at all. Only a little rasp at high rpms.

btw - the DraXas header won't be out for a while. (which is why I went with MMW)

I was thinking about getting a DC SPORTS header off ebay.
What's the trick about the CEL?
