Default supercharged 1/4 mile times

I will start off by admitting that i am not the best drag racer, i live and breathe in the corners, but everyone wants times, as did i, so here they are

3 runs total

Run 1: 60': 2.2
ET: 14.66@ 96mph

Run 2: 60': 2.23
ET: 14.67@ 94mph

Run 3: 60': 2.32
ET: 14.67@ 96mph

the times and performance were very consistent as you can see

setup is trd supercharger, alphawerks header, umnitza intake, catback exhaust.

As you can tell someone that can hit better 60' times could prolly do better, but like i said im not the best drag racer.

another thing, this was done on stock tires with 16,000 miles on them

Let the discussion begin! hahaha

Hmmm...interesting. Not bad times. I'm sure once ZPI starts pumping out stuff for the SC you could get those in the 13's.

reaction time has nothing to do with the e/t.. its his 60' ft.. get some better tires and get that to be like 2.0 or 2.1 and youll see like 14.3-5. try lowering tire pressure to like 24-26 and see how that works, or maybe even 20-25

Not too bad man. Definitely looks like solid mid 14s can be had pretty consistently with that set up. not bad for a 20,000 dollar car

keep in mind jump from 14s to 13s is not as easy as the jump from 15s to 14s.

nice times.

Finally some conrete numbers... thank you very much! I'm still torn on what route to go, however.

That kinda sucks. I was expecting better numbers...numbers that'd beat a i/h/e'd Celica GTS.

Yeah but the GTS is much lighter than the tC and with i/h/e, the HP would be very comparable. Not to mention he's got a roll cage and a few other things that might make the tC a little portlier plus he was on stock tires on a full inflate. Sticky tires, sans the rollcage and a better launch and it would most likely be a 14.2-14.4 1/4.

He also stated he didn't build the car for the strip, he's doing an AutoX config and a damn fine one at that.

are you having a problem with wheel spin, or wheel hop? if so, switching to a drag radial would help out alot.

Alot of people i know would take drag radials over a limited slip if they had to choose between the two for a drag race. they help an amazing amount. they can dramatically decrease your 60ft

yeah better tires are definatley in order, i was unable to launch the car becasue if i did it would wheel hop bad, then just spin the tires forever.

like i said im not the best at launching either.

and i know it could be driver but there were 3 gt-s celicas, one with intake, one with intake and exhaust and the other with i/h/e, and i beat all 3 considerably. I know they are fast but everyone swears with bolt-ons a celica is a low 14 car, its not, im sorry but it just isnt.

As i said im not building the car for drag, but at least i got everyone numbers to shoot for so have fun and be safe

i will update with times as more mods start to come into play

Hey OutCrnrU, you took the 18's off and put the stocks on for the drag race. What kinda rubber do you have on the 18's. Maybe you would have gotten better times with the 18's unless they are rediculously heavy.

if you ran the 1/4mile 1 second faster than stock, the 0-60 cant be any lower than at least 6.6-6.7 right?

I traded my celica gt-s for my TC. I ran consistant 14.5 and 96mph (best of 14.3@98- added straight pipe when i ran that) in it with just an intake and rear muffler removed. So the gt-s can definately be a mid 14 sec car with very little mods.

As for the TC, if it runs 15.7 ish stock, and adding the supercharger takes a second off.. i'd say those times he ran are quite reasonable. You cant really ask for much more especially with only 7lbs of boost.. especially when any decent amount of boost is made until close to 5-5500rpm.

I'll see about taking mine to the track here soon to see if i have the same results as he did with his, i've had the supercharger on for about 2 weeks now.. 7lbs doesn't feel like a 13sec car for sure. I think the most important part of all of the 1/4mile with supercharger talk is.. "potential" now.. just gotta wait for those upgraded pullies to come out, its crazy how much more power you start to make as the boost is turned up..

I'm hoping to take our supercharged car to the 1/4 track soon, it's just not happened as of late, due to the 2 hour drive (each way) to a 1/4 track.

Default Supercharger? worth it?

How much is the supercharger with installation about 4K?
What does that get the HP up to?
What does that get the HP up to with catback and intake on top of the supercharger?

I'm debating whether to spend the money on mods or get a new Civic SI, the 2006 Si is 197HP stock...

197 hp stock but like 140 torque hahaha. Stock tc has 145+ torque and with the sc it is in the 190-210 "different dynos"
