i have a 06 scion tc with a 5 speed manual transmission and am interested in swapping over to a 05 scion tc automatic transmission. It includes the shifter, consel, computer, tranny and torque convertor. Do you know of anyone that has done this? If so please comment on the pain involed :-) and extra parts that might be needed. this is the first ive heard someone doing a swap to auto..not worth it,just get one,just as people with autos,you want a manual get one,

 

Why would you want an auto? :o Manual is better overall.

 

Find someone who wants to do a auto to manual swap and just swap out your manual for their auto. lol

not to be rude but some people cant stand driving manual or had no choice but to pick up a car that had one. my cousin loves driving his STi but when your stuck in traffic practically everyday it can get very tedious after awhile.

 

Agreed. Plus some of us break bones a lot and have had a ton of surgeries so we figure for a couple of months each year we will be unable to drive a stick.

05 tC here looking to trade all the parts!!!! haha even though i just bought almost everything XD hahaha but you can join the manual to auto club and be the President!

 

Actually I used to be, I got my ___ beat so badly a few years back that I quit. Broke my eye socket and ____ed up my eye... Might have seen it, it was at the Toyota Center (Houston basketball stadium, now church)

But that's not the reason, I am just very unlucky. I get hit by drunk drivers, knocked off my bike, lose organs (spleen), get infections so bad that they remove a lot of my throat, and have heart disease. So far 6 or 7 surgeries, 5 totaled vehicles, 11 wrecks (only one was my fault, hydroplane), and at least 1 broken bone per year.

EDIT: Might have been more wrecks I have lost count

hey miller if you do swap parts.. ummm Do you have a 2005 wiring harness??? One thing so dang hard to find

 

nahh I havent got that or the ecu yet I just posted on my thread the parts I have I need the ecu harness and gauges and I'm good to roll I repeat good to roll XD minus the LSD, clutch and tranny ahhaa but I can get them anytime

 

I agree to manual is so much better.

 

or sell your car via craigslist or here, use the money and buy a used manual
