Default Tanabe concept g or HKS hi power?

i was pretty set on getting a tanabe, but after doing some reseach on the hks, i cant really decide.

has anyone had both or does anyone have either and would like to give me some pros and cons.

i love the sound of both axle backs, and dont want something loud as an agency or a megan.

hks is way louder and is angled, making your car more of a cop magnet.
tanabe is much more subtle w/ a straight exit and a quieter tone.
it's all personal preference...

You really just have to go for one, I have the tanabe and love it. It is all going to be what somebody has on their car, they are going to like what they have. I like the sound of the hks i just don't like how big it is and the angle really.

i like the angle, im just worried about burning the bumper and if it may be a cop magnet, thats why i was trying to stay away from the agency. cops where im am are dicks, but i ride around with my friend who has an ss camaro putting 460whp with long tube headers and a custom straight exhaust and is the loudest thing ive heard and hes never gotten pulled over, so i think id be okay.

Yea but cops in general to me hate on our kinds of cars with exhausts. They love to hear V8 cars with exhausts, I mean what would you rather hear.

haha true but youd have to hear my friends camaro. its insane. i dont want a ricer sound. i want a real deep tone at idle and a real aggressive non ricer tone at higher rpms..

the tanabe is quieter than the hks at idle but is around the same sound as the hks at higher rpms.

Well cops don't mess with V8 cars where I live but my friends has gotten pulled for his exhaust on his eclipse. I have the tanabe and haven't had any problems with cops. As long as you are not stupid and rev it up every where I think you should be fine with either of them. You won't get a ricer sound from those exhausts.

one more question.

about how far out do you think the hks and the tanabe stick.
the pictures ive see of the tanabe it looks pretty flush with the bumper, but ive seen pictures of the hks and some of them it sticks out in and some of them its flush or even under the bumper.

is the hks much louder youngflyer? youtube videos dont do justice. i only ever listen to drive by videos bc people who make a video of the exhaust put the camera way to close to it anyhow. itll make it louder than it appears.

i love both. i just cant decide. i want an axel back bc im not planning on turboing the tc anymore but i like the angled look more than the straight look.. but dont want tickets.

i think i may just go for an hks but i dont know the difference between a hi power and the other one. im having a brain fart right now. uhh..

More than likely you can find the HKS cheaper than the tanabe. Most people have the hks hi power one.

bud its a tough call the hks has a different rumble altogether compared to the tanabe. im telling you they both sound awesome with a mid-pipe. my advice is to buy one used and to find the best deal. your wont be mad with either choice they are the two best exhausts i've had on my car out of 8 lol!
