Default tC Automatic to manual conversion

For all those wondering what all it takes to go auto to manual here it is.

Parts list:
    [/list:u:6e570820a5]

grand total is near $2500 if bought cheaply.. I had a lot of help and freebies and spent about $1200.

You will have to remove the dash, and pretty much everything back to the firewall.

There is a cut out on the fire wall for the clutch pedal/master cylinder.. however you have to drill the holes and be as precise as possible.

The cables are ran the same way, cept the bracket on the firewall (engine side), so we had to rig something in it's place.

Removing the torque converter is a pain in the ___.

Good luck if the engine isn't coming out of the car. I can't imagine getting the auto transmission off the engine is that easy. Do remember to support the engine because 3/4 of the motor mounts are on the transmission!

All the auto trans guys need to petition a company to start building the auto transmissions.

Long story short. Don't do it, unless it's the last option like it was in my case.. And in that case, you might as well drop the money on the LSD.

I'm not around enough to know such things.

I'm not going to talk about the V6 on SL, along with the other projects that I'm working on. I just thought I'd give a parts list because between work and here I still pick up on a lot of people who want to go from automatic to manual.

This is true. We had the motor out when we found that we had to swap to manual, and it wasn't a pretty process.

PM me some specs on the tranny build if you have time, I'm definitely interested in hearing about it,.

After parts and labor for the auto to manual, I've estimated 7000-8500 at a shop, but I could be wrong. If you're tranny has more then that into it, I'd love to see your car run at the track.
