Just so everyone knows I did try the Search method, and I did find an article in the Tech section,
but when I was reading through it the author said that he wasn't sure if this worked for the tC.

Is there anyone who knows for sure how to reset the ECU?

Pull out the EFI fuse (20A in red) on the lower left of the engine relay box (next to the driver side fender in the engine bay). Keep it out for 15-30 seconds...then plug it back in. Should reset the ECU...

 

Tried that...unfortunately it didn't work. There are 2 EFI fuses though. One is a bigger white block, and the other is the 20A in red. Also, there's an ECU-B fuse. I tried each one separately, and different combinations.

Not sure what to do now??? Any suggestions?

*shrug* oh well...disconnect the negative for a good 15 minutes. You could reconnect it earlier, but I don't guarantee anything.

 

Guess that's what I'll have to do.
However, if someone happens to read that knows for sure how to reset the ECU on the tC, please post a reply or PM me.

yeah just unplug it for a bit, wash ur car, and reconnect. good stuff

 

your going to have to reset your windows when you unplug your battery i think you hold up for 15 seconds then they will go down all the way

Does the Fuse trick work? I dont want to go through the hassle of fixing the window's haha.

oh yah, will disconectting the battery (or fuse trick) affect my alarm in any way????

 

 

i guess no one has a positive answer. most of the time i just unplugged the neg on the bat. then step on the brake till there is no more light so its fully drained. but resesting the ecu fuse might help.

 

I'm just hoping that it will not mess up my alarm? I know the windows might need to be reset, just curious about my Cliffor Alarm.

 

the battery is the way to go, the dealership reset mine, i had an issue with the CEL the first week. the just unplugged the battery for a full hour reconnected it and reset my windows. Everything works fine now. I dont see how it would be a problem with your alarm. You may have to reset your alarm after... i know you do for viper alarm systems

 

Do you know how you would reset your alarm on your viper? I have Clifford and it's basically the same thing as Viper.
