Tc motor questions,
First off id like to say i read through most of the sticky's since i don't need bashing
.
Okay to topic:
My friend is getting a TC...well best friend is getting a TC, hes not a big car person like I am. I am on the other hand a Mazda Tech
so i pretty much know my way around cars pretty well. What im looking for info wise is spec's on the TC motor, what it can hold boost psi wise, bore/stroke, cam profile etc.
He might not ever use this but when it comes time for that boost stage or n02 it will make tuning his car so much easier. Oh i also do all my own tuning for boost applications, etc Via SAFC-2, etc
So if you have links, guru's here just lay it on me.
I didnt bother to read other peoples topics since i figure sticky topics have a reason.
If anyone is wondering i own a 04 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. But the TC was my next choice in cars if i had not found my current car.
So thanks for all your help, my buddy will be joining later to also thank you after he receives his car hopefully sooner then later!
Late!

Well the stock internals have been known to handle up to 14 psi, and higher with meth injection.
I would actually tell you to read through a bunch of the Force induction threads to read up on some of the tC's.
And you have the best last name there could be!!!

Most of it is pretty easy to find out there.
07 and up has a 9.8:1 CR, 05 - 06 has 9.6:1
88.5 mm bore X 96mm stroke, so it is a longer stroke motor. Better low end tq, but not a high rpm motor.
Open Deck
Chain driven cams
VVT-i, so no lift adjustment, just cam timing (overlap) adjustment is performed.
Most people keep it at around 8 - 9 psi I think on the stock block. Some run it higher with ok results. There a some 300 whp daily drivers out there.
The boosted guys will probably give you the info on what some of them are running.
