Lightbulb tC starter going bad?

I noticed that every time it gets really cold. My car seems to die so much.I would have to literally carry a battery charge up kit with me everywhere I go. I am aware that this happens to all vehicles and it is normal especially during the fall/winter.
But I also have heard of clicks when I do try to start my car back up. So this is where I think I believe my starter kit may be going bad.

Would it hurt to replace it with a new one? If I should change it which one should I go for? I am thinking of getting the part on Rock-Auto.
Or do you think it would not make a difference since the battery will die again due to the cold weather? It still works but time to time I do hear clicking.

I am not an expert with cars. I have yet to learn and would love to be given advice and suggestions! Thank you.

Battery I am currently using is a Optima Redtop (I was told that this battery is good)

Sounds like it's the battery. Optima quality isn't what it used to be. Most battery testers test for voltage but not CCA (cold cranking amps - used to start the car). With the issues you're having I'd think a core in the battery is failing. My last RedTop failed in just an year and a half. I have had MUCH better luck with Duralast Gold batteries than any sealed battery I've used. Swap the battery and see if the issue persists - the starter is only used to spin the flywheel to kick-start the car. It won't have anything to do with your clicking and dying and the fact that you need to charge the battery all the time. The only other thought is it could be an alternator not properly charging the battery, but then you'd likely have a few other issues as well.

Sounds like your battery 100%. If the car starts so long as the battery is charged, then it is fine. The clicking sound is due to the starter not having enough power to turn the motor over. I'd start with the battery and then the starter if the issue persists. Your battery shouldn't need a jump just because it's winter, it should be able to function year-round. Rockauto starter would suit you fine if that is, in fact, your issue.

Cheers! Hope you get it sorted.
