I'm currently dealing with this issue. I have a 2013, went out one morning and it sounded like it wanted to start but wouldn't. Thought I was low on gas and/or fuel pump issue. Fuel pump would prime and we pulled it out to test and make sure it was working. Stumped after that so sent to Toyota for diagnosis and turns out it is the immobilizer, 10.5hr+ labor job.

Spent a whole day at the dealer many years ago due to the immobilizer ... blast from the past.
