Default For those of you with Megan Racing / Creative Compacts STS..

hey,

i just had my megan racing short throw shift kit installed by a local shop and was wondering how yours felt. i have a LOT of slop in mine. the shifts are shorter, but when it's in gear and i'm just driving, theres a good amount of play/movement in the shifter. is yours that way, too, or is yours really tight? mine is worse than stock in that regard. i'm thinking about picking up the speedsource cable bushing kit to tighten it up, but first i want to determine whether or not my shop installed it correctly.

thanks for any feedback,
matt

i have the same short shifter, and yes mine is sloppy too while it's in gear, in my opinion the price you cannot beat but you get what you pay for, i personally wish i would have spent double the money and bought a twm stage 2 b/c my friend has one in his tc and it feels amazing i was considering swapping mine out for the twm because it is so much nicer, all in all the shifts r nice and short and pretty precise

thanks icetC for the feedback.

and to the others, yeah i know. i wasn't expecting the best short shifter ever. i paid $60 lol. i just wanted to know if my shop installed it correctly or if other owners experienced the same "slop" while in gear.

I've had it for almost 3 yrs. Still like it... but ya, it's is not incredibly firm while in gear. I have also swapped the lower cage bushings (purple ones that came with it) and the cable bushings (I have the speed source ones you mentioned).

I've been considering upgrading to the Doc's GS at some point.

I've had mine for two years, I've been pretty happy with it. There is a little slop but i think its much better than stock.

really? mine's far worse than stock. i'd say i have a good inch of slop when the shifter is in gear.
