Default Took out a GSR!!!

I took off my 19's because my tires were so worn and ran up on a GSR with my stockies on. I was worried about starting off the line so I baited the guy into a rolling start. I jumped on him about a couple of feet and stayed there till way into 3rd gear. Anyone else...I cant wait to pop in a CAI and full cat back exhaust...may be then it wont be competition! But I assume there was some driver skill involved on my behalf

You only have headers? Sorry, but his power to weight ratio and the top end vtec > tC's heavy body. Estimated GSR HP ~ 180, tC~ 160. Top end the GSR will pwn joo. Just stating facts, but maybe you're a better driver or he can't drive, or you only went stop light to stop light so his torque less 4 banger didn't have a chance?

that was a good race in my opinion. i use to own a GSR. But mine was a 4DR. a lil heaver then the couple, but i feel the GSR is a lil faster then the tC. To me it would be a drivers race. I've never driven a 5sp tC, but the GSR isn't a easy car to race in. But a good kill in my opinion

good job...just want to compliment you before the haters reach this thread. i honestly believe that you can pull up a gs-r....but there are a lot of ___s from these forums that _____ when a tc driver kills a faster car...they own the car and still talk trash about how its not possible and this and that....speaking of which....i left a post about me killing a 4 door integra with a b16 engine swap and no1 believed it....shows how much they know about cars because i can show them a lot of integras that do that swap....by the way nice kill

this isn't some ghetto civic forum, please watch your language. and there's a difference between racing someone who's just driving and "killing" a faster car.

it's good that you had the stock 17's on and not the 19's. the 19's will slow you down. also you would have been better off going from a stop, we have alot more torque then the gsr sure it to our advantage. i raced a GSR with intake headers and exhaust, i was ahead 1st and 2nd, but he pulled me in 3rd. i had s bunch of tools in the trunk of my car but not enough to weight me down enough to really make a difference.

Are you sure it was a GSR? I'm not saying that its impossible for you to have beat him, but a lot of people just assume that a GSR is any Integra with the little badge on the back, or with GSR wheels.

Wait, WHAT.....I know that the gsr would most likely win unless it was auto and he was trying to manually shift it and missed shifting some ___ way, BUT you losing to ANY civic STOCK is nearly impossible with a stock tc unless you were in reverse trying to go straight!

I don't race, unless i have F/I, but what you said just shocked me!

sorry

a stock TC runs about a 15.5 1/4 stock. I not sure what the GSR does stock im pretty sure is close. The RSX type-S runs a 14.8-15 on the 1/4 stock.

I know the GSR's are not faster then the RSx type-S. So I'd say the GSR is beatable, if not a very close race.

Basically the old type-r's are at 195hp...our car's stock 160 with more torque...if you put I/H/E with our cars you add 25whp = 30 crack hp...so now you are at 190hp just like a type r but with more torque...the problem with our cars is the soft mounts and bushings the engine moves so much and the tranny is not as tight as the type-r (i used to have one so I am a bit unbiased)...

So gsr is 170? I have the headers that dyno'd ~10whp and 9lb/tq...what does this mean that my car has about 171 to the crank same as gsr and torque difference in my favor will make up for wieght...

But like I said...obviously some luck is always involved...

It was modded with springs/exhaust/light bulbs/header(maybe)/CAI(sounded like it), and it was manual.
Maybe I just wasn't flooring it, not sure. Or maybe that bastard rice raced me. I don't know. But I lost.
