now now i know the tC is exclusively in america...but i really love the jdm styling. i can care less if u like it or not. I was just wondering if anyone has gotten this intake. Its the only true JDM intake out.

First.. there is no JDM for the reason you mentioned above.. that is simply an intake.. made in japan.. they say "JDM" because people over here think that makes it special

Its an intake.. so it will provide sound and looks alone.. so if you like it and it fits, go for it I guess.

Well, from the description, that intake is definitely from Japan.

If not JDM, it's definitely otaku.

i hope that pic of the intake is for another model and they have one for the tC also, because according to that picture...that intake will be on the wrong side of the engine bay and absolutely will not fit!

If it fits a tC, it is NOT JDM, period. This whole "JDM" thing is getting way stupid. Wow.. it is made in japan... it is special.... So is my TV.. guess it is JDM.. I should sell it on ebay for more than it is worth Guess what? The entire TC is made in Japan.. but it is not JDM. And if it was.. who cares.. JDM reflects japanese cars built for that market.. just as USDM is US cars made for the US.. that is it.. nothing special.

OK.. sorry.. had to get that out.. not to bash anyone.. but I get so sick of the JDM thing.

Thats just ridiculous. I admit a lot of the cars have had issues lately, but thinking something is quality just because it is made in japan is horribly naive.. but it is your money. Enjoy

absolutely! other markets have stepped up! AEM products are made in the US and I have a feeling Injen products are as well. And no, it's NOT the only JDM intake, there is none. There is no tC in the JDM.... so there is no JDM intake for the tC. But to sort of fit your argument, there is another "JDM intake", ARC induction box.

i never said anything was wrong with AEM, nor Injen. Injen prolly makes the best intake out for the tC. But why would i wanna be like everybody else? If everyone claims that just cause there's no JDM tC and that theres no JDM parts, then what about the new TRD intake? Now if i dont say so myself, but TRD is as JDM as it gets. what is someone gonna say next, that they'd actually prefer an american racing rim over a volk rim? and again, not like theres anything wrong with american racing rims. i just prefer voilk rims better. and whats up with all this non jdm crap, theres alot more JDM companies making their JDM STYLE PRODUCTS FOR A USDM CAR. toyota has their reasons for not releasing the tC in japan, but it doesnt mean that the tC isnt JDM. first off, the engine is JDM. although it was pulled off a camry, it a vvti..AGAIN JDM. The frame comes off a european toyota, so does that make it EUDM? geez open ur minds up. JDM is the style i like. It doesnt over do the styling, now if you people dislike ricer style, then im with you all the way.

Okay. It's simple. JDM means "Japanese Domestic Market". There can be no JDM parts for the tC, as there are no tCs sold in the Japanese Domestic Market. It's a USDM car, and can therefore only be fitted with USDM parts. The country that the parts originate from is insignificant. Only the destination matters.

People seem to confuse JDM with "Made in Japan".

uhhh, they are originally JDM only..... they are becoming more international now. Camry engine yes, but it's also sold and marketed everywhere else in the world. So........... lets see, if I was in Japan and was looking for a tC intake from a regular aftermarket car parts store, would I expect to find it? You cant go to a Toyota dealer and find a tC...... it's not in the JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET! JDM style is NOT the same as actual JDM sometimes. ALso you cant compare wheels and intakes. Rims have to be applicable to many cars while an intake is car/engine specific. Volk wheels are JDM........ but are also USDM............ and many others. As are American Racing wheels. I'll give you an example of JDM..... a while back Bridegstone made the RE01-R tires and for a while they were JDM only. At that time if you had them in the US, then you can say I have JDM only tires. Now they are selling in the US and you can probably get them fairly easy now....... no longer JDM.

top fuel and HKS might make a lot of stuff for JDM cars but they also make stuff for the USDM cars too (the tC for example. and if they are JDM why do they make stuff for volkswagen and BMW? thats not exactly JDM to me

Your mind is the only one here that needs opening.

If it's Japanese Domestic Market, it's sold only to the Japanese.

Where it's manufactured makes absolutely no difference. A lot of so-called domestics are made in Mexico but are very much USDM as is the tC despite being made in Japan.

Anything made specifically for the tC is USDM unless it's marketed solely to people who are in Japan and import tCs from the US.

This is hilarious. I got me a "JDM" TV at home.. it is "special". Hell... check it out, my mp3 player is made in China .... CDM YO!!!!

I guess our minds need opening... to the Fast and the Furious mentality LOL! I could give a $#!t if it WAS JDM.. would make a rats **** to me. I have lived long enough and dealt with parts long enough that my mind IS opened and realize how dumb the hype is :D

first of all, i said jdm style, i know what jdm means. i dont need 30 yr old males trying to explain it to me. i actually agree with someone on here. they are jdm products originally and thats what i want. geez, my bad for not wanting an intake that everyone else has. its not like imma have this scion forever anyways, its too underpowered as it is now.

we're not baggin ya b/c of the intake choice. Youre free to choose whichever you want. Actually the more choices the better. It's just youre idea of JDM and JDM intake... thats all. It didnt seem clear that you were into JDM style rather than "JDM tC" until your 3rd or 4th post.
