Trans jerking??
Hey all, I've been having an issue lately with my tC. It seems like when i'm going through a turn and I accelerate, I then gun it and finish my turn. Well the whole front of the car jerks pretty hard as i'm completing my turn. I dunno if i'm just torquing out from gunning it, or if my trans is like slipping and jerking into the next gear. Really worried i'm messing my car's innerds up. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
(this has been happening before and after my CAI)

there was a tsb for steering racks and power steering pumps being replaced in 05 tC's.. sounds like that might be your problem and the jerking you're experiencing.. i don't have the link to the tsb.. i can put it up later though.. but that might be the problem.. the power steering pump not keeping up when you complete the turn and gun it..

next, we are driving a torquey car without a limited slip differential. You're going to have to deal with a lot of torque steer when you step on the gas in a turn, since the auto tranny usually puts us somewhere between 3.5 and 4.5k RPM.
Well i know we lack LSD which would explain why my steering wheel moves back and forth when i gun it off the line... but i'll have to check out the tsb thing. As for not abusing the car... What's the point of having a nice fast car if you can't drive it fast? If I were just using it for transportation I would have bought a corolla or some other boring car. If the car is capable of doing it, it should be able to do it without breaking (at least this is the way I'd go about presenting a product to the populace). "This revolutionary toothbrush cleans your teeth 50% faster. But don't use it for brushing your teeth or you'll break it."

People who own lamborghinis and ferraris drive their cars like eggs. Why? Because they do not want to abuse something that costs so much money to own, and repair.
tC parts are not cheap, i can tell you all about it.
And as for the toothbrush example, it really means 50% faster under regular usage, not abusive usage.
I guess that's something I never really understood about people... If you buy something, use it to enjoy it. If you just want it for the potential, but never use the potential, why not just stick it in a glass case? Things are bound to get scratched, busted, broken. If its a quality product, that shouldn't even be an issue. I have the same issue with those leather bras for the front of cars... you put it on to protect the paint... but the bra gets messed up instead. so the front of your car still looks messed up regardless. If you are worried about damaging the paint, just spray safety foam all over your car. It'll look stupid, but at least the paint won't get chipped....
I know that exact "jerking feeling" you are talking about, I have the same issue with my 2005 Auto TC. I thought something was wrong at first also, but if this seems to be part of the design and normal it is good to hear I am not alone.
no it won't hurt the transmission.. because i've driven an auto in the cold, and it doesn't do anything.. see your only time you're feeling this jerky feeling is when turning.. its why i recommended the tsb to you.. plus the tsb replaces the steering rack AND power steering pump.. some have had the pump fail intermittently that's why the jerky steering feeling or the whole car jerks..
i doubt it's in your transmission at all.. if you notice the people who have the problem are 05's.. and that's what the tsb covers

tsb for steering.. here are the three pages of the service bulletin..
now i know it's for steering pull, but it's clear that the pump design was redone and a new part is availble.. so i think it still does apply..

yes as long as you're under the warranty period for your car (which i think you probably are) then yes, it's covered for free.. big part is making the dealership see your condition and agree it needs to be fixed..

dealers are happy to do TSB's (most) some pay the techs pretty good
just be nice about it, not a dick and they will work with you
if you walk in bein a butthole, then most likely they will try and NOT do anything for you
