Hi,
has anyone put synthetic transmission oil/fluid in your tC?
the owners manual doesn't call for synthetic, but i was wondering if anyone
used it?
what do you think?

alot of people use redline, but i had issues with it so i went with eneos 75w90

 

mosfly everybody uses redline, but endup switching to somthing else. I used Amsoil 75W90 and it has worked perfect. So much that the car can be rolling at low speeds and I can go into 1st gear without any grinding. To me the worst problem was when shifting into 2nd at near redline and goin into reverse, both solved.
I have over 10000 miles without any changes in how good it feels, only thing is that it took a good 300 miles for it to start working at 100%.

 

where are you guys getting the enos or amsoil?

 

got mine from a local shop, but I know a few people on here bought them online for a pretty decent price. I love my eneos, I tried redline and too many issues. grinding gears, jamming up, wouldn't go into gear. it felt like crap I thought my synchros were actually going bad, but once I changed to eneos it changed everything, thank god

did you guys flush (using a machine) the redline out when switching oils?
are we supposed to use GL4 or GL5 trans oil?

I didn't flush it out, hks I jus drained and put the eneos in, ofcourse the presence of the redline was/is still kinda there but I figure with one more change next spring it will be completely out. I love my eneos

 

I really need to do this, my car hates cold weather. It is already starting to grind alittle in the mornings because it is cold

 

well eneos in my tranny is giving me stiff shifts now that it got colder so tommorrow i plan on switching to amsoil hopefully that smooths things out ill let you know

 

im gonna give it a shot with the eneos hopefully it works better ,i have redline in it now and it grinds and now its starting to suck getting in and out of gears.

 

also we need 3 bottles of those eneos? are they the same size as the redline bottles?

 

yup same size as redline. u had the same issues i had with redline jamming up of the gears, its like in the 60s here and my eneos is still good. when it gets really cold all u really have to do is jus let the car warm up with the eneos

 

ok, ya i've notice some grinding since i changed the fluid but yesterday was the first time that i got stuck in gears, and i dont have any floor mats to get in the way of the pedal lol

 

yup it happened to me once i changed it and 400 miles later i said ____ it and chanegd it to eneos. ofcourse the presense of redline was still there but i felt the change immediatly, one more change for me and watever redline is left will be completely gone

 

ya i probably should change it but im tryin to find the best place, amazon has free shipping but they dont have it instock and saving that $15 would be great lol.
