Default TRD CAI or INJEN....which one sounds better????

i used to be really hung up on the performance between the two but finally came to the conlusion that im not going to decide my decision on purchasing a CAI on performance since the diiference between the two won't be noticable. so i want to know which one sounds better??? is one deeper tone than the other, do they make two different distinguishable sound, ect. thanks

Injen is better. period. TRD = Tremendous Racing Disadvantage. The supercharger excluded.

because TRD follows government standards. This leaves very little room for performance. The rest of the companys out there don't rly do that

im stuck between TRD and injen again!!! crap!!! same thing happened when i was deciding which exhaust to buy. i went with TRD because i was pretty much guaranteed a low mellow tone. i never had the chance to hear an injen personally, though i heard it had a nice tone as well. im not really worried about performance, my goal is aggressive sound and look, not power.

anyone with a TRD CAI want to comment on this????

the only things from TRD worth buying for your tC is the S/C, quick shifter, and the shocks. Everything else is not worth it.

if you are looking for performance. you should have gone with injen for your exhaust if you were choosing between only those two. The TRD CAI vs INJEN CAI you wont noptice a difference between the two but INJEN does give out about 2 hp more and sounds WAY better.

nope. TRD/ AEM intake sounds better. Get that swoosh sucking sound right around 3-3.5k. Can't beat it. Plus you can get it in colors besides stainless. Install is easier too. Looks like it fits a lot better and isn't just an oversized pipe stuffed in there.

This of course is just my opinion. Let the flaming begin.

nah no flaming for joo. just corrections. INJEN will give you the woosh sound. But before you get that sound the injen intake makes your engine sound fricken BURLY. I love it. And it fits perfectly it doesnt look like an oversized pipe.

I have both the injen CAI and the TRD exhaust. I had the injen first and then aquired the TRD exhaust. I cant say if my exhaust would have sounded different with out the CAI but the CAI remained the same.
Overall both sound GREAT together!!! I highly recommend.

and for the "swoosh" sounds, it varies when it happens. its not like it happens at an rpm point. it happens as you open up the throttle body when you press the gas. its like when you whistle.

it can happen from idle... .86k. its through the whole rpm range, not just at 3-3.5k
