Default TRD CAI venturi insert?????

OK Lifers, I did a search and it brought back nothing. So B4 anyone starts ____ing about " use the search" I Did!

Now for the issue. I was able to get TRD CAI off one of my boys, I read through the instructions and as it stand I have all the items it lists in the instructions. I goto Sparks and their instructions show a venturi insert located right under the MAF. Anybody know how important this thing is? From the looks of it its just a plastic part that looks like a cylinder frame. The instructions I got are an earlier print then what the Sparks site has they seem to have a later version. i just want to install this thing with out worry of jackin up my ride. Anybody know anything bout this

is the venturi the thing that goes before the MAF? you can pop it out and rotate it...but its suppose sit pretty snug when you put on the bypass valve. at least that's how mine is. Im not sure what its used for though...

oh, yeah if you have the part...just put the venturi in according to the instructions and then gently put the bypass valve over it. if done correctly, the venturi should not freely spin around when the bypass valve is on.

well if it doesnt come with one, and i guess your instructions dont say it should then its fine. i have the 07+ model CAI and it needs one, if yours is an 05-06 model then it might not need one. doesnt seem that important IMO. sorry i didnt understand the question before.
