It probably wont be since passing CARB requires the carbon filter which is very restrictive. You can get more for less from any of the intakes available right now.

and since it will be C.A.R.B legal its gonna be more restrictive than the cheaper priced ones from k&N and injen.

I am really afraid of putting injen or K&N because of my extended warranty. Should I be afraid? But I really dont want to spend 400 for trd CAI.

NO..they cant void your warranty for an intake. Search warranty and you will see that this has been asked MANY times.

Trd CAI is NOT worth it. IMO

Go for AM ones like Injen , weapen R, umnitza Carbon Fiber. All cheaper and better air flow.

Yes, but for it to be CARB legal woudl require the carbon filter as well which negates most of the performance increases

It IS worth it if people want their cars to be legal.

Then get a drop in K&N filter and youll have the same performance gain for abot $50. You wont get the looks or the sound, but with that carbon filter in there, its not much better than stock. Figure youll lose a few HP over an Injen or K&N..which only make abouy 6-8HP, leaves you with about a 3-5HP gain. A drop in panel will do that for you just the same and for a lot lot less.

I saw a thread on here that said the TRD/AEM CAI is going to retail at $395!!! At that price, 3-5HP and CARB cert is rediculous (even though people are blowing that much on axle-back exhaust).

TRD is overpriced. it is 525 for a sport muffler. i have heard that the cat is near the end of the car, so they can call it a catback, when in essence it is really a axle back. i think 525 should cover you from the headers to the axle right? you can get a fully aluminized exhaust system for the tc for about 400 bucks, and that is with a magnaflow muffler.

Exactly...it makes no sense to buy this thing. It wont give any more gains than a drop in panel which is about $50. At over $300 its is a dress up part only with some increase in sound and thats about it.

hey the s/c just came out....dont push the TRD luck...

yeah that is a lot of $$ to drop, but if you want to be carb cert. go for it. I would be contnet with the s/c and the high-flow air filter.

For that much money you could build you own exhaust for you and 2 other friends tc's. Just a gues but I think its possible.
