should've stayed stock. lol. j/k.

here's what i would do. put your stock axleback on and replace the header and all the piping all the way to the back except the catalytic converter and the axleback. i know that the midpipe for the tc is already free flowing so that's probably taken care of.

anyways maybe that'll give you the sound you're looking for. that's what i did with my last car 02 civic si. not to loud but really mean when you want it to be. not the same car, but it's just an idea that might work.

the trd exhaust isn't even loud until you give it some gas.

Man, I love the sound of the TRD exhaust. Not too loud like the ricers out there but not too quiet. Just right!! Tell your Dad it is just normal and maybe he will believe you.

Hmmm, I posted to this thread last night and it disappeared...
Anyway, I have the TRD, and it's not loud by any stretch.
The only time you hear it is when you get on the gas.
I think Dad is overly sensitive...
So, unless your Dad paid/pays for the car, tell him to put in some Lawrence Welk in the CD player and enjoy

oh well, you didn't say that before. all that other stuff changes the exhaust. what you test drove would have been different.

also i think your dad doesn't quite know what he is getting into.

Sounds like my dad but the way around that is to either buy the car from him or start with pulling CAI (if you have one). I get about half of my engine noise up front through that thing. Why didn't ask him and get him to 'buy in" on the mods before money was spent?!

Bottom line from my 41 years of dealing with a stubborn dad, they get into a mindset and they never seem to change their ways.

I only ever find my exhaust too loud when I'm going through a church parking lot, passing a cop, or trying to sneak away in my car somewhere quietly.

My dad had to take my car somewhere once real late at night / early in the morning. He said, "you car sure sounds louder at 2 in the morning." Dads = ?
