Default TRD Exhaust System Dyno

Has anyone seen a dyno test on the TRD Exhaust System Dyno alone?

i don't imagine trd is doing any of those dynos. i'd bet you're gonna have to find someone who had a personal interest in those numbers.

The dyno shouldn't matter... it wont really be affecting your performance. It's only axle-back, so it's really for the look and sound of it.

Really? I saw in the axle-back comparisons that they actually made 5.xx whp for the greddy sp2 evo2, and another that I cannot think of offhand, i guess that stock muffler is pretty durn restrictive.

i wouldnt say it wouldnt effect his performance i meen it wont bump him in to 14's but i do decent times for no axle back and these mods \/ pluss its easy for emissions in cali and you dont ever have to worry about the off chance fo the deal complaining about your mods

It will give you the same gains as the SP2, borla, etc etc.

In this months edition of Modified Mag they have an article on tC Bolt ons. They did a base run, then added an AEM CAI, then a DC sports axel back exhaust, and finally a DC sports header. The results are as follows:

Base: 139 WHP / 145 lb-ft
CAI: 142 / 149
CAI + Axel back: 145 / 152
CAI + Axel back + Header: 154 / 156

Although the gains are small, I hope this finally proves that axel backs can be a performance modification.

I would post dyno graphs but photobucket is being stupid!

Well... I wouldn't expect an Axleback to do much... but I was proven wrong when I went through this thread:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=80070

I would expect the TRD to be maybe right around there... like 5whp/3-4tq. What do you guys think?

There are some catbacks and full exhausts out there. You just don't hear as much about them.

Creative Compacts and Draxas are two that come to mind. I think ZPI too maybe?? Not sure.

^^^Don't forget Meghan Racing! Their complete exhaust is the same price as most companies' axel backs!

i know about those but what about HKS, Injen, Greddy, etc. Its all axleback . Why not make cat-backs. Another question is if i do get a axle back exhaust, will there be parts out there in the future where i can convert it into catback by completing all the piping that is missing from the axle back.

i'm pretty sure you can easily convert any of the axle backs into a full catback. just go to a shop and ask them to make you a custom catback using ur axleback

The main Cat is built into the mid-pipe, and that whole piece is about 6 ft long. Unless you fab something, you cannot have a cat-back on a tC, but you can have a s-pipe back.

^^ yep, just have them use a high flow cat and make a larger midpipe and you will be set
