Default TRD Exhaust + TRD Intake

Firstly, I used search, found a couple comments seeming to confirm what I wanted but nothing definite. Checked the exhaust clip thread, but the only TRD exhausts had other mods.

I'm going to be shopping for a TC very soon, and I want a CAI and exhaust, partly for performance but mostly for cosmetics. I also would rather roll both into the financing and have it completely dealer warrantied, which pushes me towards TRD.

I've read both are good parts, but how do they sound together? I read the TRD exhaust is noticeable but not excessive, and has a good deep tone w/o the ricer bumblebee-in-a-can, which is exactly what I want. I am hoping that matched with the TRD CAI it continues to sound good (if not better). Does anyone have both w/o any other mods (header, pipes, etc.) that could comment?

Only the exhaust will carry a warranty, the CAI is classified as an "off-road" part and isn't worth dealer installation or financing.

They do compliment each other nicely. I've heard almost every combo of exhaust/intake on a tC and if you're looking for a nice sound that isn't real loud it's your best bet.

i just installed my trd intake yesterday and i had the trd exhaust already. it makes the exhaust sound a little deeper and its a quiet intake imho because u can bairly hear the intake over the exhaust unless u about 4000 rpms. i like it tho and i think this is the best looking intake out there black chrome FTW!!!

wrong.

if a dealer installs the TRD CAI, it will carry the TRD warranty.

But, you can NOT finance it with the car becaues it changes the emmissions from the car. You will have the buy the CAI by itself, and if you want toyota to warranty it, a dealer must install it. But its not worth having them install it, because it will take no time at all, and it wont ever need to be covered under warranty

sorry bro, 2fast4 you is right. if you check the scion website, and look at the trd cai for the tc, at the bottem there's that fine print stating that this trd part is for off road use only and not covered by any warranty.

came as a shock to me too!

if you review the TRD paper work that is at a dealership, it will be warrantied if a dealer installs it. others dealers my follow different policies, but my dealer does cover it, and i have some documents stating the warranty... but im not at the dealer right night, and wont be till tomorrow night. if i find it though ill try to get an electronic format to post.

but yes it is "for off road use only", which most all aftermarket performance parts are
