Default TRD Header in Sport Compact Car Mag - June

i know there's been talk of a prototype TRD header for a while, and I came across a mention yet again in SCC mag. Page 48. Scion put it in all the celebrity tC's.

Anyone have word on this? Plus their estimate of the TRD header, TRD intake and exhaust at only 15hp. Does that make sense?

Hmmm...

As for the numbers, the TRD exhaust = next to nothing, but say 2hp. That leaves 8 or 9 for the header and 4 or 5 for the intake. Sounds about right for TRD stuff.

wtf @ China?

Toyota and TRD are Japanese.

The Scion tC is USDM ONLY.

Ah - japan - whopz. Im not sure why I was thinking that. Like I said - it was prob a dream (cause i dunno why I thought one was out). God knows how much trd would want for something like that if regular headers are around $400-600. You know they would prob want more like $800-900 for 6hp

ALL Aftermarket and performance product companies would try to sell you the brooklyn bridge if they thought they could make enough of a profit margin out of it. And sadly, if they told all those "ricer kids" out there that the bridge would add 10 Horsepower to their car...they'd probably buy it! Thats the only reason i'm a little embarrassed to be a tc owner.

funny i wonder if it was rebadged? the article mentions all parts as TRD. does dc make the TRD exhaust? There is a picture of the header in the mag, but i can't really tell if its DC.

the article clearly staes "DC Sports stainless steel exhaust and ceramic header"

DC does not make the TRD exhaust.

No, the press release from 10/2005 clearly states DC providing all performance parts. The article I mentioned from June 2006 in SCC clearly states TRD as providing all parts.

Often early PR releases turn out to be all hype because a partnership doesn't go through. That being said, sometimes editors get their facts wrong. Something doesn't add up.

Hence my question.

Default Which DC Header is it?

If you go to the DC Sport web-site http://www.dcsports.com
and check the header for the tC they claim they only have the Race version for it and it's NOT CARB approved.

If you check the listing for the 4-into-1 their p[age claims it's unavailable.

Which DC Header was used in the header dyno test here?

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82724

It looks like a 4 into 1 ceramic to me.

I'm confuused.
