Default TRD muffler vid *updated vids*

Hard to justify putting it in "power hungry" cause it's more of a sound mod, but still. Got my used TRD muffler today (thanks Rory), installed it and went home from work with the camera on. Let me know what you think. (Oh, the video page also has my old stock video and a "custom" intake vid)

If you can settle for a short ram like mine - then buy a $46 (shipped) corolla short ram on ebay and do smth like that: http://zoltiz.com/cars/tc/intake/

:D

Good job on the video. It sounds a bit louder than mine but then again I don't have a short ram intake. I'm amazed at how some people say the TRD muffler sounds 'ricey' when it has such a nice growl to it.

It all depends on the camera - I took the intake off - all I have now is a TRD drop-in filter and a removed charcoal filter - other that that it's a stock airbox.

And yes - I hear ricey - tC with TRD muffler is not it.

Sorry to ask an answered question but where did you get that intake adapter?? I cant stand this K&N anymore.
EDIT, its a Corolla intake. Thanks

Yes the TRD sounds sexy IMO. I love watching my mom drive off, just to hear the TRD growl.

EDIT AGAIN.
I looked on ebay and I only found Corolla intakes that replace the whole pipe. I just want the adapter and filter.

That's the corolla intake I bought (I think it's even the same seller). All I did is took a hacksaw to it about an inch from the MAF location, sanded down the rough edge and had myself a little adaptor. The filter that comes with this cheap kit is actually pretty good.

I have the TRD exhaust. Not sure about added power, but it sounds nice. It's not ricey (ie, sounds like a helicopter is directly overhead as you drive by) but it has a nice growl. I'd go with an aftermarket exhaust, though, and will be, as I got the TRD Exhaust as part of a deal. I wanted a different car without the exhaust for lower price, they offered me the one with the exhaust for other car's price. Good deal.

It's a bolt-on muffler, designed specifically for tC. You can buy it from your toyota dealer for $525, or from http://www.trdsparks.com for $360 or so shipped. Install is just 2 bolts and 3 rubber hangers.

Just curious as to why you took off your custom intake. It looked really good.

I get bored with it - take it off, then I want it back and I reinstall it. Takes 5 minutes...

Probably same thing will happen to the muffler. I'll get sick of the noise, put the stock one one, then go back to TRD. Adds variety.

Could you make a vid with the intake and the TRD??

Also does your intake have a high pitch wistle when at light throttle??? I love the way the K&N has that sound. Thanks for the link also.

I was talking about half throttle. The tC does it stock. It had a high pitched whistle at light throttle through the rpms.

Im pretty sure it has it, put the intake back on and listen. Good to know more vids are comming. Your vids are really good. :D
