I heard summer!
He heard fall!
He heard winter!

Let's call the whole thing off!
Seriously, lets stop debating about when it's coming out.

they also said, before the tC was out, that the supercharger would soon follow

trd's "soon" means "1-3 years". They said they would have a supercharger out for the new celica and mr2....back in 2000.

also summer starts June 22nd I believe, so...

I'm in the market for a tC and recently asked the dealer about the supercharger. According to them, it will be available in August for the cool sum of $3,000.

As funny as all the "rumors" around here are, I did talk to my dealer over the weekend. He said it's all done and ready, but the company that makes the ECU chips for Scion is refusing to make a software upgrade and instead is insisting on selling a whole new ECU chip. Scion doesn't want to screw over their customers here so they're looking into options for suing this supplier or possibly even getting a new chip supplier. So that's why all these date rumors are popping up - it's all ready, but nobody knows when exactly it's going to hit.

Funny, the Scion rep at the AJC auto show a few weeks ago here in Atlanta said that it'd be late spring. I don't know who, or what, to believe anymore. All I know is they need to hurry.

heh heh... someone I know with scion just took a business trip to the facility in Japan. They were told that BOTH the CAI and the Supercharger will be release in the fall. I am inclined to believe my source, as they have always seemed to be in touch with what is going on, but... who knows. It sounds like Scion is telling all of their people different stuff. Oh well, they have pretty much lost my business on the CAI, I have been patient and waited this long. I was going to wait until fall or winter to get the Supercharger anyway, so I will wait until then, if it is still not out, I will just buy a turbo kit I guess. The one consistent thing I have heard from everyone at my dealer, as well as scion customer care and other reps I have spoken with, is that the Supercharger will be offered as both a factory option as well as an after the fact add on.

It wont drop the mileage IF you never get on it. But we know that is not the case. As soon as it starts producing boost, your mileage will suffer. I plan on a significant decrease in mileage, as I will be winding it up often... thats why I am buying it

yeah, whatever. toyota has promised SC's with plenty of cars now.

celica
MR2
IS300

the only "TRD" supercharger for the IS300 is on the yellow IS300 pace car. where's the other superchargers? hmm.. on the tacoma?

It's funny that Toyota is so good at so many things, but they seem to have these huge problems getting superchargers shipped. I still believe that what I was told at the dealership is probably a lot more accurate - it's not that they can't pick a date to deliver on, but that they're working out an internal supply issue that isn't being resolved neatly, which delays things.

Oh... I'm pretty sure if you're willing to put down like 3k, they'll bolt a supercharger onto your existing setup. For that kind of money, they'd be crazy not to.
