Default trd supercharger numbers

spoke to a buddy of mine at a scion dealership on long island and he told me that they did a conference call with trd last week and had new dyno numbers for the supercharger. 225 AT THE WHEELS. i think right now we're pushing 140 at the wheels-TOPS. that's a pretty significant jump from the original estimated.

225 to the wheels?

Hrm. Something smells fishy in the town of Denmark. The WRX is only pushing 227 at the CRANK... The wrx runs something in the neighborhood of 9psi (I think), is stock intercooled, and static compression is like 8.5:1. IF (and its a big if) this is true, and a TRD kit is putting down these numbers you are looking at a stage 2 or higher level kit. Not the warrenty friendly factory option you've all been waiting for.

I think you're all gullible fools though... Happy april fools day.

well, im not going to start another tC vs. ____ thread, but the cobalt pushes 205whp with a 2.0l, so i think 225whp is more than possible for the tC, im not saying TRD is releasing the SC at 225whp, but its sure as hell possible.

I am doubting the 225whp but hoping it is truth since I would be lined up at the dealer getting mine installed immediately.......

Where did you see that 205 was whp? Don't most car manufactures rate their cars at the crank?

Word 'round here is 200HP and 205 lb ft. Now, knowing what I know about how they rate HP and torque in the industry, my guess is the above number will be at the crank. But....knowing what I know about insurance and what happened when Road and Track slapped an SRT 4 up on a dyno.......It could be more.

Only time will tell. Hopefully TRD will prove me wrong!

Thats 205 at the CRANK. Car manufactures measure crank HP not wheel HP.

And I would love for the SC to produce 225 WHP.... but it aint gonna happen. That is over 265 at the crank, which for this engine size and power will run somewhere around 12 - 13PSI (estimated).... There is no way Scion is going to offer that much boost on a stock engine. They would have warranty work out the a$$ !

nope, that 205 is at the wheels, i forgot where i read it, possibly automotiveforums.com, but it is wheel horsepower, it is exactly like the srt4 as far as its ratings go.

The WRX is a 2.0 liter while we have a 2.4. So I guess it's possible, just not likely. I'm guessing the 225 is probably at the crank, which would coincide with their estimated 200 whp...
...Then again, the STI has a 2.5 and is pushing 300 at the crank. We can always hope. I guess we'll just have to wait till the SC comes out in 2010.

not at all, what dodge informs us for the srt4s horsepower is supposed to be crank, but the car straight from the factory pushed 230hp to the wheels and often times more.
