Default TRD tc supercharger now taking orders!!!!!!

Just a heads up to everyone who hasn't already heard the great news. TRD is finally going to release the supercharger for the tC's. It is slated to debut at the end of August/ early September. It will give you over 200HP. It is said that the MSRP of the system itself will be around 3200-3500 bucs. And dependind on the service dept where you buy it at, you will have to take into consideration their hourly rate for install. Install time is 5 hours. Most dealers hourly rate is between 65-100 an hour for install. So roughly your looking at 3500-4000 for a TRD supercharger installed and with full warranty. Not bad.

This is all unless it's an official announcement from Scion with concrete information.

what was the psi? what is the exact gain or hp of the kit (and wheel or crank)?
why is it the other thread said $3200 installed and now you're saying plus labor?

If its true that its only 40HP for $3000.00 supercharger that would be crazy, imagine if its 40HP and not to the wheels, i would be dissapointed with TRD, for those 3,000 bucks it better make at least a turbo spooling sound (LOL) , anyways, lets just wait for official specs.

ok guys first off your gonna be able to get it cheaper from like trdsparks or mcgeorge parts and take it to the dealer... secondly you can adjust the psi and change out pulleys to get more gains this isnt like the supercharger cant be upgraded...

TRD has maintained that it will be 200hp since day one, throughout all of the release date delays. That has been the only official number ever released, yet somehow, some of you seem surprised that it's only suppose to be putting out about 200hp. Some of you also seemed surprised that its ~$3200 for the parts. Simply looking at the pricing right on TRD's site for some of their other superchargers (parts only) would have suggested such a price. The same could be said for the hp to dollar ratio, pretty much in line with their other products. Anyone who is surprised, disappointed, or even excited by this news got sucked into the hype or the criticisms.

No there not. Just the "TRD" letters and "TRD" stickers that come with them.

All press releases say it's "approximately" or in "the ball park of" or "around" 200 hp. Something that I hadn't thought about was that Toyota is normally conservative with numbers.

Someone pointed out that the Corolla XRS was said to make 0-60 in "under eight seconds" but actually made 7.1 and the tC's pricing was "under 20k" but ended up 17k-ish.

I think it'll be 200 at the wheel at least but probably around 20 or so more.

let's do some demolition derby and see who wins.. don't GAF? neither do I about racing.

i want a fast car that i can drive everyday (it is what makes me money). if i wanted to race street bikes i would have bought a viper and twin turbo'd it.

and i still have YET to see where everyone is getting 40hp from. i've yet to see that in stone.

besides, on a stock tc, it may be 40hp. but by the time i get the sc, i'll have a head, intake manifold, full 4-1 header, exhaust, and will have many supporting mods that will free up the engine even more. so i'm sure i'll be well over 200whp
