The problem is, you have no point to make.

I have no problem with TWM shifters. I had one for over a year. Was it perfect? No. Was the price right (in my opinion)? No.

So if I have a problem, I address the problem. I wanted shorter throws with more height-- the TWM height reduction is not what I feel to be comfortable.

My problem here is that you're apparently just trying to kick dust-- you have no point of comparison, so nothing you say here carries any weight. You live in SoCal, right? You're more than welcome to test out my setup.

thats not even the point of this thread, it is a comparison thread. You have yourself stated you haven't used or seen the other one, and yet you have bashed it. Maybe you didn't do it intentionally but as I showed you before and also what you said earlier

I am not even going to get into an e-arguement because who honestly does that?! Well maybe you, but I am not going to judge, I don't know you.

Back on topic, I would still like to see those comparison shots, but the Doc I's will mostlikely be the one I will be purchasing.

Iieshhh….TWM Stage 2 What a nightmare that was. Lets see what did TWM do for me….TWM Stage 2 Short Shifter decided to break while I was driving home from work. That’s right folks I said BREAK! Apparently they didn’t use a pin through the ball connected to the shaft of the shifter so IT SPLIT! Causing my shifter to do more turns then the Tea Cup ride at Disneyland. Let’s just say driving home was not an easy task.

The second thing TWM did for me was ruin my shifter cage! Apparently it had been coming lose for some time (TWM shifter) causing my retaining ring to be come lose, so every time I would shift it would lift up causing the worst shift from 2nd to 3rd known to man (Dr. Isotope Witnessed This First Hand)

Luckily Dr. Isotope lives but a few minutes from my house, I quickly and safely managed to shift from work to him. He then took apart my assembly and was in Awe of what he saw. He could not believe that the shifter had just come apart. Luckily Dr. Isotope is a very smart man, and took my OEM Shifter and custom made the DOC ISO Short Shifter for me. Boy was I happy but since the TWM ruined my shifter cage I had to purchase a brand new one because even with the OEM fit the retaining clip still lifted with every shift. Once I got the new Shifter cage I had Dr. Isotope install it for me, everything is PERFECT the way it should be. I gladly thank Dr.Isotope for everything he has done for me, even though he quoted me with an unbelievably low price I gladly paid him way more.

Of course all this didn’t happen in one day, he did manage to make the new DOC ISO shifter for me that same day so I didn’t have to live with the “Tea Cup” ride. TWM has also been good with giving me a full refund for their product.

Needless to say, Dr. Isotope has my business for as long as I Own my tC.

I was going to get a shorter boot anyway such as the twm boot they have so I didn't have to worry about it bunching up or anything
There is a little metal ring(about the thickness of a paperclip) on the shift boot and you could either widen it or probably remove it all together. I also have the redline shift boot, so you'll get to see what it'll look like w/ the shifter.

I know what you are talking about, I had to remove the center console 3 times to access my radio. I would like to see what the redline boot looks like.... what stitch and boot color did you get?

well you will have an order from me sometime next week, well in the near future at least. I will decide with a boot later, not too worried about that at the moment. Oh, if I were to return my shifter back, would I have to pay shipping for it? Just curious...

You pay to ship the shifter back to me, then I credit you back $25, with is $20 for the shifter and $5 to cover the shipping.

Hey doc,

I was wondering if you can only custom shorten the shift lever and not change the actual throw %. I am into the short look and do not really like the feel of the throw reduction (would rather keep the throw % stock). If you can, let me know what is the shortest height of the shift lever you can do and how much it would cost me.

Thanks

I was under the impression that Doc's gearswitcher was height adjustable? How does that work? Or do you have to specify which height you'd like when you place the order?

More accurate would be to say "height selectable".

When you purchase the STS, you then tell him how much of a drop you want, it is not adjustable, but you can select what height you want. You better know for sure what you want!
