Umnitza's CarbonWerks Intake...2 Pics and Video!
well... CAI or the Umnitza intake, which ever you like go for it! I am sure both will be better than the stock air box? haha... besides, the difference between the CAI and a SRI is too small to really feel it in my opinion. So I guess decide by the looks will be enough and the Umnitza intake is the perfect one for me!
No intake is going to give you much noticable power. But I really don't like the looks of this box. I absolutely LOVE the sound, but I prefer the loook of the CAI with polished tubing.
But when this came out, wasn't it $200? or was that a preorder price? Cause I dont' remember any mension of it being a preorder price.

The advertised price is the lowest that Umnitza can advertise due to the Manufacturer.
If you send him a PM, you will get the best price.
That goes for most sponsors. They can't openly advertise their lowest prices or risk losing their manufacturers. Best bet is to ALWAYS PM the vendor to find out what their non-advertised price is... you'll be surprised.

Okay, the installation is pretty straight forward and all... took me about 20mins tops...
Couple of questions for Umnitza
1) Where on the Chassis does the L bracket Connect to?
2) Where on the Intake does the other end of the L Bracket connect to?
3) I made sure to tighten everything up, but I seem to be bogging at 2-3k in 2nd Gear and around 5k in 3rd (repeatable)
Your response will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Quick review - after 40mins of driving
I'm not even going to claim any super HP gains as I've never been one to trust Butt-Dynos but,
- Pulling a lot smoother up to 5k (Took a quick drive for lunch, didn't have enough road to go higher)
- I used to have a bit of "raspiness" from the stock Airbox at 4k - that's gone (thank God, I was hoping that would happen)
- Sounds freaking great, but we all already knew that
- Install is a Cinch
Delivered pretty much everything I wanted, so I'm satisfied.
Although I can see my MPG going to hell since it's so tempting to go past 4k to get that yummy growl ...

and Umm.. about that "L" Bracket ?
It's to hold the intake in place.
there is a single nut that is on the back of the intake, 10mm.
you remove that nut, put the twisted side of the bracket onto that nut.
Then the L part of it will slot just over the bolt location for the old intake baffle. Reuse that nut from the old intake to secure it.

got mine today. I was a lil disgruntled at first since the connector was bent in and I didnt wanna touch it and create uneccesary damage. After a couple of e-mails between Umnitza, they assured me that I can just bend it back with no problem. I'm just waiting for the rain to stop so I can install it.
Joben - I'm very very very very sorry for the oversight.
Unfortunately, in a mad rush to the fedex location, my guy's tire blew out. So, it will be there tomorrow and you'll see a scan by mid day 12noon PST.
I really appreciate your patience and very sorry for this
