Default unichip question

I bought a kit used, the person mentioned the pnp kit had the same bolt ons as me, I have not installed on the car yet however, while I was looking at the instruction manual, it mentioned a toggle switch.

Now the question is, do I need the toggle switch connected inorder for me to use the unichip? if so, where do I purchase the toggle switch? I can't seem to find it, been googling for the past hour and I feel like asking on here would help the search.

i'm guessing if it needs a toggle switch it wouldn't be any specific one and would prob be able to use a basic one from like autozone or what not;

Actually the toggle switch uses a molex connector to connect to the unichip. I'm not sure if it would work without it, might default to one of the maps at the 'off' position of the switch. Try calling 1-866-UNICHIP, they should have a switch they could sell you.

Just like any other piggyback tuner, just need a certified tuner for unichip for anything custom.

Kinda cool tho if you change mods send it back to them and tell them what changed, they will remap it, checkout the unit and send it back to you for $25!

Yeah, when I go back to the dyno in 2 weeks, with the chip installed, the guys are going to check for lean/rich conditions and give me a print out. I figure if something is glaring, I can send the paperwork and the chip back to Unichip and allow them to tweak it a tad.

I also tend to think it will default to OFF and therefore use Map A.

Call unichip and let us know.

5-10hp gain for $500 (on a lightly modded tc. for example, I/H/E)

If you have FI then you may see better results.

You be the judge.

I missed the details of the first post. Kinda sucks a guy sold it used and left the 87/93 octane toggle switch out of the deal.
