I need to do smog check tomorrow for some reason.

My car comes with TRD exhaust and TRD Cold Air Intake when I bought the car....so will I pass the smog check?

omg...bought the car from dealership it comes with TRD cai and exhaust...but they forgot to do smog check...so now my sticker is 2009.

 

if TRD intake is not carb legal it will not pass smog in CA

 

yeah its pretty sad, even though it is a dealer option, you get pigeonholed into this situation.

TRD exhuast should be carb legal i think, since it doesn't replace any pollution controls, the cats remain in place. but the TRD intake doesn't have a charcoal air filter, so no on that. you need to find a stock air box assembly, so to the junkyard.

 

I thought TRD intake was the only CARB legal intake out for the tC.

 

It's only CARB legal on the xB2.

I didn't think the dealer could install something like that unless it was used and already on the car?

 

This stuff just proves why I'm glad I don't live in Cali, if was any other State you would be fine.

well its time for you to look for an OEM intake that has the charcoal filter in it.

 

Get out of Cali, come to Texas, we'll pass anything, I passed last week missing a lug nut, tinted, header, intake, full exhaust, as long as you don't have a CEL they don't care.
