When they designed the tC I don't think they had cornering abilities in mind with the extra sound deadening and anemities. It would be nice if it could scoot more. Everytime I look in the engine bay I notice that huge gap of space where a larger engine could fit.

wow...im really excited to see this
even though im completely jealous cause i ddint do it first
but still very excited
really? how much extra do you think the engine weigh?
Factor in parastic loss from the automatic transmission and your V6, until turbocharged, will put down numbers roughly similar to a 5-speed tC with bolt-ons.
You'll also be limited by the factory axles in terms of power potential. If I remember right, ZPI broke an axle with their car just using the 2AZ.
So...other than being "unique," I don't see a lot of redeeming qualities coming from this swap.

But I'm definitely all for swapping out the 2jz in favor of a smaller, less powerful engine. The 2jz is widely known to be the worst thing that ever happened to the Supra. Everyone knows that old iron block was hard to get extra power out of and it could barely handle any boost. And with a car as light as a Supra, who needs that larger engine anyway?
god damn i wonder what they did with the 2jz!! something about that desnt seem right. the 2jz can handle 600hp near completely stock, just boost boooost booooost.
oh and to get a 2.4 to 3.0 ive come close. took at 22re toy truck motor bored it 90 over and stroked it 5 mil to get 2.8, the block had to be extremely notched to fit the crank.
