like the title says, i have a valve train knock at idle. ive had it for a few weeks but have been neglecting to take it in as that tends to be a pain in the ___ here in seattle. my buddy is a mechanic for a euro shop mainly working on bmw and benz and he told me its a valve train knock. you can hear it from about 20 feet away...but its not loud...kinda faint. thoughts before i take it in to the stealership?
btw, yes i am under warranty. i just hate dealing with them b/c theyre all morons.

i dont think its about to go boom. once you push on the gas, even the slightest, it goes away. when it falls back down to idle the sound returns. the car isnt running weird at all and it only has 14k miles. so, no boom...lets hope.

what mods have you done The dealership said since i havd a hearer and CAI that i took off factory covers and that they prevent the sound. Like the cover over stock header and rubber for air box. they said that is normal

its on i put all the stock stuff back on and still have it they are full of bs
oh hmmm.. then nevermind that idea. you should get a mechanics stethascope and listen to various parts of the engine while it's running, so you can pinpoint this noise you keep hearing. that'll help isolate where it's from.
