the 2AZ-FE motor came from what year model camry?

i read the intake manifold is different on tC.
does the camry/solara and tc put out the exact same numbers? i know the lexus is300 and gs300 (pre 06 model) had the same 2jz-ge engine, but the is300 put out 5-6 less hp because of a different exhaust manifold design....or something.

 

I believe the tC has about 3 more HP than the camry... so most likely due to changes in parasitic loads and maybe timing curves. But they are pretty much the same thing.

So if I were to get a motor from a Camry, I could rebuild it and just swap it in to the tC? I am looking for interchangeable cars that used the 2AZ-FE so I can work on a performance build once things like Rods/Pistons, etc come out for it.

 

Well technically, yes. Things like the intake manifold you might need to purchase seperately if it's different from the Camry's, but the block and head are the same so go for it.

 

Camry= 2002-now
RAV4= 2004-now

02 camry's and up? hmmmm how about buying a TRD SUPERCHARGER for the camry into the tC???. they got those....

 

For the V6 Camry, not the 4 cylinder

 

interesting...just may work...using the camry trd supercharger on the tc

as I said, they offer it for the V6. I have never heard of one for the 2AZ-FE

 

oh yea thats right... they only got superchargers for 3.4, 4.5, 3.0, and 1.8 liter engines
