Weapon r intake problem on my tc
I installed a weapon r secret intake about a month ago, it ran fine, but now it seems like from idle to about 4,000 rpm it is really sluggish, then around 4,100 or so the car comes back to life. what should i do it is kinda making me upset i caused me to lose to a darn cavalier. does anyone have any suggestions or have been through this before? thanks for you help

Although you'd be getting a CEL, I think.
yea, my MAF went bad after 2000miles. The dealership said that it was the oil from filter. They warrentied the sensor. Ive left the intake on. If it happens again, then that will confirm that the intake is the direct cause of the problem. Im a little skeptic of anything the dealership tells me. However, other people have confirmed that the oil/maf problem is something that has come up with aftermarker intakes in the past. So, its not some random problem that the dealership made up to try to put the blame on me. Hopefully, someone from weapon r will read this and beable to give us a heads up on if they have encountered this problem. Ive talked to Creative Compacts and they stated that they did not have any problems with the intake
We haven't had any problems to date with oil from the filter killing MAF's. Our filters come lightly oiled from the factory, not enough to be spread onto a MAF. The only incidents of dead MAFs from an intake I have seen is due to oil from the PCV connection. Our PCV connection is a good length downstream of the MAF, so I don't see that becoming an issue.
I would check all your connections on the intake, including the PCV hose. Reset your ECU, and make sure that the MAF is in and sitting correctly. DO NOT OIL THE O-RING. Any oil allowed to spread around the MAF can kill it in a very short time.

wait so were we supposed to oil the WR filter, because i never did. I just put it on and never even thought about having to put oil in it. I thought only cotton filters needed oil, like the K&N and injen
