Weapon-R MMW Header... WTF... HELP!
Well, after shelling out $900 and patiently waiting 7 weeks for my Monster Motor Works header I tear my exhaust apart to install my nice new shiny header.... and it doesn't fit!!!!! One of the tubes of the header doesn't even come close to clearing a metal radiator line. Isn't that nice? Anyone else have problems with their MMW header install? Aside from the one post of the disconnected tubing sections? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Damn this header is not looking promising. Sorry bro i would have no clue on how to help you. Have you tried calling MMW and explaining the situation with them and see what they have to say. These headers are hand made so im sure they make sure the fitments good before they ship it out. Hope you get it all worked out. Keep us updated on what happened.
well, did u follow ray's instructions on how to install it? or did u just take out the dipstick how some other guy said? cuz here's wut ray said u would have to do:
You won't need to disassemble it for install, but you will have to pull out the radiator fans in order to get it in. Nothing big, it's two 10mm bolts and a few wire plugs to undo and it comes right out.
any pics?

No, that's not it... I pulled the radiator fans and moved the dipstick during the install. One of the tubing runs that comes off of the header plate comes into contact with a metal radiator line that sits directly in front of the engine head. The tubes interfere so much that it creates a 1/4" gap between the header plate and the engine head.
Some one screwed the pooch on building your header. They say MMW builds as sold so human error I guess. What a bummer. Just return it and pick up a AW header and ZPI S-pipe. You will get the same results and save $350.

Are those your ATF lines? Maybe it's not designed for an auto. They test fit each one before shipping but it's probably on a 5-speed. ScionDad had to re-route his ATF lines when he installed his turbo, ask him how he handled it.
You will NOT get the same results with an AW Header/S-Pipe. You will lose ALOT of low-end compared to the MMW. Ask Mahalzkita...he's kicking himself for selling his MMW to me and getting AW stuff....
I had the MMW Header also the MMW header definatly has more low end and mid range power I kinda regret selling it myself and picking up the AW header, but the AW does have better high end as it's a 4-1 definatly more kick when the revs are high. I havn't received my spipe yet however but the MMW does have better mid range since it's a 4-2-1 Header and the AW has better high end due to it being a 4-1 header. ONly thing guranteed with the AW is fitament, they fit PERFECT and I don't think anyone has had any fitament issues

I have contacted coon9573 about this issue, and have agreed to exhange his header at no cost. As I have stated before, every header is hand made, and there will always be a chance of variances. Every other header we have installed cleared the coolant bypass line by a long shot. We back our products 100%, and this header carries a lifetime warranty. So if there are ANY problems regarding this header, or any other MMW product, contact me direct and I'll handle it personally.

Here MMW results:

I'm not saying mmw makes bad stuff at all but where the power hits may vary but I'm making plenty of torque with AW.

Ray and MMW are kindly handling the issue and it will be resolved soon. It is unfortunate what happened but they are being very helpful. As Ray mentioned above, it is a coolant line and not anything dealing with an automtic transmission as I do not have one.
Well, after two and a half months my MMW header issue is finally resolved. I got a refund. After sending my header back to MMW they checked it out and realized they had a manufacturing problem on their hands. They also said they had a new batch last week that had the same resultant dimension problems. Unfortunate. Hope they get everything resolved before their group buy. Good thing they have the only 4-2-1 on the market for the tC. I think they probably should have refined their internal processes before releasing their product. They managed to break too many design rules...
1. Failed to meet schedule (three times).
2. Changed design without noticing customer.
3. Failed to meet design criteria.
4. Had no quality control prior to shipping product.
It's unfortunate when companies make external mistakes with poor product qulaity, but it's even more unfortunate when companies make internal mistakes and try to cover them up.
