Default what is the best header conig for the tc

I am planning on buying a set of headrs for my tc.
Im currently building up the scion more for show because i have an automatic. But i would like to fend of some challenges, meaning from wich config would i expect the most gains. What configuration would be best for the automatic 06 tc. 4-2-1 or 4-1?

You wont fend off much with an auto tc with just I/H/E mods.

log manifold...with a 16g bolted to it ;)

mmw makes a nice setup, they all add rasp though so be prepared to add a resonator to quiet things

Big MF res would do the trick to reduce rasp nicely.

First off, don't listen to all the BLAH BLAH BLAH that people tell you!!! Auto TC's are not slow, ask the 240sx that was running his mouth! Lol... Now back to the question.

Secondly, i chose the MMW 4-2-1 set-up for the power and it didn't dissapoint. But if show is the main reason it looks nice under the hood as well, and if you don't like the color go buy some "High Heat Engine Enamel" and paint them (i wouldn't personally) but that's just another option.
If your running a JDM exhaust listen to the advice and throw a resonator on there, and you'll have a pretty decent sounding car.

But simply put MMW would/is my pick.

i got a set of monster motor works headers i need to get rid of. never been installed. i ordered them and decided i was going to turbocharge my tc before i put them on, so they've been sitting their box. at the foot of my bed. give me a pm if your interested.

also, yes, auto's are slow, your 16 sec 1/4 mile times are pretty clear about that.

Its gonna be hard to find a set of headers for the tC. I can only fit 1 header on mine

But seriouly, the header, in my opinion is the best power mod i have, but it does make the car sound kinda crappy, good luck with all. From what i understand, MMW is the best, however the are all almost the same.

wow...16sec, compared to the 15 something of the manual

doesnt seem that much slower....

oh and btw...trap speeds of the auto vs the manual are pretty close...

^^^ Thank You, i'm glad somebody else sees it!!!
Wow the manual is ALMOST, get this ALMOST a whole second faster!!! i wouldn't say thats a whole lot faster.... esspecially when your trying to tell us that our Auto's are SLOW!!!

Now back on topic, I've seen other people get headers that aren't the MMW 4-2-1 series just because they looked a little better, and the end result was... They sold them, and went and bought the MONSTER! I just think that if you want something to give you power, quality, looks, and Fun i wouldn't hesitate in go with the MMW headers!

p.s.
it also comes with an S-Pipe just in case your not sold yet.

i'm sorry, did i rant about how much faster 5 spds are?

secondly, if you pay attention to what other guys are running, they need over 200-300 whp to shave just a few seconds of their 1/4 mile time. so yeah, nearly a whole second is pretty big improvement for just having a manual versus auto.

tc's are peppy and have gutz, but they aren't fast, auto or manaul, but manuals are clearly faster than autos. everybody clear?

yes manuals are faster, but not a huge amount faster.

take some weight out, and you'll shave much more then adding horsepower

i could feel th difference in the car when i removed back seats and spare tire, etc.

and when your up to 16 second times, its not a huge gap, being one second... ive never rode in a standard tc, hell ive never even rode in a tc other then mine, but from what i have read on this site, yes manuals are faster and sustain more hp through the tranny, but its not a HUGE amount

yeah, i've ridden with a friend in his auto tc, and i was surprised that it wasn't as sluggish as i had expected, but then again, from the passenger perspective, things are quite difference.

anyway, as far as shaving weight, you only lose 1/10 of a sec for every hundred pounds you lose. so just on weight alone, you'd have to lose about 1000 pds just to have a 15 sec 1/4 mile time.

or trade in your auto for a manual, the choice is yours.

x2! a lil more power and a lot crappier sound.

and yeah, a "set of headers" goes on V engines. Inline 4's have A EXHAUST HEADER...... with RUNNERS. sorry to be a stickler, but thats one thing that constantly annoys the heck out of me.
