the matrix type s?

i was dropping my tc off yesterday, and before i left i was looking at some of the 08s the matrix type s looks nice its the same 2.4l we have and awd.

 

i test drove one... yes they do have the same engine as us.. but when i was driving it, i felt like there was a lot more weight on there so i asked zack (the guy i work with on setting up events) how heavy the car weighs and we both looked, it was over 4000 pounds! thats more than our tC

 

The tC will outdo the matrix.

 

the new matrix do not weigh 4000lbs however they do still weigh a lot coming in around 3300lbs

btw wtf is this doing in a tc forum

 

its a toyoda, and so is a scion. i wanted to know what people thought of it.

The one they had at the LA auto show was pretty awesome. It was TRD supercharged lowered on OZ rims with a FMIC and a BBK. I think it had a roll cage in it too. Like that it was awesome. stock it is blah..

 

the tc is still faster than the new xrs and the older ones too, and will outhandle both

 

The older XRS used the GTS Celica engine. So cruddy torque, and you need to rev the heck out of it to max that torque out

All wheel drive will always be heavier than RWD or FWD alone.

I'd say test drive the matrix to see how well it handles. With All Wheel Drive, it could certainly handle better. Good luck.

 

it actually handles pretty well for a small car. its got a lot of weight holding it down while u corner. i was surprised it stayed on the ground so well when i was going 65 on a 35 mph on ramp(the dealer guy told me to try it, he said hes done it).

 

im sticking with my tc. but my sisters looking to save up for a new car she doesn't need that much hp and as long as its solid and looks good. she like the awd factor. and i like Toyoda so it looks like she might get it. thanks for the input guys
