personally i'm waiting for AEM because it will have the bypass valve... not sure if you could buy a bypass valve and put it on a K&N (or injen if they have a CAI for the tc) but you may want to look into that too

Gow with the K&N since it is a C.A.I, the weapon R is a short ram, not worth the money your going to pay for it...

I can get the Weapon R Secret Weapon intake for $195 shipped. Is that worth it??

I know the K&N is like $270?

haha these posts always trip me out... Most of your intakes are designed by the same company anyways... Just like spark plug wires, there is only 3 companies in the world that make spark plug wire... so does it matter? Not really... Its coming down to simply branding... AEM should be CARB legal, thats about the only plus it has. AEM Bypass valve is a piece of crap that will break in 10 min if installed wrong or its cold out side. WR has a very powerful intake for the tC with dynos and customer service to boot. K&N is offered in colors and is not even in the same ball park as AEM V2 or WR Secret Weapon.

The KN and AEM intakes are pretty much the exact same. Infact I believe KN owns a piece of AEM. Anyway, I doubt the AEM will ever be realsed, and if it is, I'm sure the power increase will be slight. I've yet to see a "carb legal" CAI, thats actually functional, and seeing how long it's taking to realse, im sure AEM is running into the same problem.

The Weapon R has been getting a bad rap, due to amatuer installs, and lack of notoriety. However, the concentrated air coil system it uses (simular to that of the AEM v2), is among the most effcient, and powerful out there. A weapon-r intake, with a heat shield, would yield greater HP increases, than any CAI. However, long lasting reliabilty is questionable. With K&N, you know you have a top of the line product, that will last you for years, with little, to no problems.

K&N is the oldest, and has proven to be the most reliable. Also with a 6hp increase to the wheel, and a nice air filter cover ( to prevent water lock), I don't see a point in waiting for the AEM CAI.

What I look foward to, is seeing AEM realese a v2 short ram for the tC. A good v2 intake, with a heat shield, would have a nice 8-12hp increase easy.

There out there, and it does have a nice 9hp increase, with the shield.

FYI: AEM V2 and K&N are no where close to each other. AEM Owns Powerslot and DC Sports but nothing to do with K&N....

You should not need any type of shield for water on a short ram The shield is to help prevent Heat Soak!
