well if you have 1,100 dollars to spend, and u want to spend it on ur car and dont want F/I, id say get the ZPI stage 1 head package, NST pulleys, and a camcon to tune it. you'll be well over an extra 15-20 horses.

well your not going turbo YET but i guess you plan on it? Id say save the money from your I/H/E purchase and your $1100 and im sure you can get the turbo ALOT faster. Depending on what your buying im guessing you can have about $2k from that? You probally half way to a kit? I would say wait cause those mods will do nothing compared what the boost can give you. If it was me, i would save that and wait it out, you'll thank us later and yourself!

yanki has a very good point. e246, you can get the zpi stage 0 turbo kit for 2100 if you have an 05-06 or 2250 if you have an 07. that's what... a few more weeks of pinching pennies??? i was once where you were in terms of wanting I/H/E, but i saved and now i have my TurboToyotas kit on production order save the money and go turbo, you'll be so much happier if you do. the I/H/E will give you a tiny bit more power, but you won't be pushed back into your seat. i plan to be SLAMMED back into my seat ;)

What they're not telling you is the ZPI stage 1 head (basically a port and polish) is an initial investment of around $1600. $550 for the head, $700 for the core charge, and $150 for the new head studs (which you need). Plus, to make much use of it, you need tuning hardware and software, so figure an extra few hundred. Not sure how much a Camcon goes for, but I remember seeing some used in the classifieds here for $200.

So:
$550 (head)
$700 (refundable)
$150 (studs)
$200 (camcon)
$200 (tune)

Total: $1600 ($900 after your stock head is sent back)

If you can remove your car's head, send it to ZPI, and wait for them to work it, then you're under your $1100 cap. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider it.
