Default What'd be the worst case scenario?

I have a slight...wait no...its a loud ___ knock coming from my undercarriage on the left side of the car. Whenever I shift upwards (from 1st to 2nd..etc) theres is a knocking sound coming from under the car, almost like someone kicking it or something CRACKING.

I had it checked by one of my buddies and he said that he THINKS it could be that there is something loose under my car, whether it be something loose where the subframe meets the chassis, or something might be broken.

Its kind of embarrasing to pull up somewhere and have your car make a crack sound once let off the throttle.

What do you guys think it might be....

The tC's Synchros are pretty loud not to mention our motor/tranny mounts aren't the best. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd to 2nd I can easily hear the synchros. Does the noise only occur between shifting gears?

How many miles do you have? It would be hard to belive its this but it is possible it could be your CV joint going bad. Climb under your car and grab the shaft and try to twist it in both directions to see if you have any play in it.

Sorry for the late replies guys I just got back from a show.

I have 45,000 miles and have been S/C for 4k

its not a synchros thing because I know you can hear the shift occur but this is a loud knock coming from the left side of the car...

as far as what speeds, DD i shift under 3500 rpms, but whether I shift at lower RPMs or higher ones you can still hear and slightly feel it.
