Default Whats best to get rid of rasp?

i have weapon-r intake, 4-1 midpipe, megan downpipe and midpipe, hks high power axle back exhaust.. ____ load of loud rasp at 2.5rpms.. so my question is, what type of resonator should i get, will a silencer help at all, or is there another way to get around the rasp with my setup???

I beleive I read something about this a while back. Do a search on an antifouler in the forum. I think it was an add-on the went between the o2 sensor and exhaust

^^ he's asking about the rasp due to the aftermarket header... not the o2 sensor fix so it doesn't trip the CEL.

and also... you wont get rid of it completely. the reason you have more rasp is due to a more free flowing header. Different brands of performance headers sound different. I'm running a Megan Racing header...and I get the performance with very little rasp from the exhaust....I'm also running an Injen axle back exhaust. You just have to play around with different parts...because every setup is going to sound a little different.

glasspack... antifuler??????????? WHAT???????????????!?!?!?!

is everyone high here?

the best way to get rid of the rasp is to get rid of the header.

or... you can get resonator which will eliminate some rasp.
maybe a high flow cat.
and even if you get a resonator it will burn in after a year and it will be raspy again

if you can get two small magnaflow one of areo25

If you get rid of the header for a stock one it will get rid of all the rasp. If you want to keep the header then you need to get as many resonators as you can.

On the midpipe how much room do you have? Add resonators to this area and it will reduce or eliminate rasp the exhaust will still be loud but no rasp. I have a 6" round 22" long Magnaflow but if you have room to add two in there (they don't have to be the same length just what you can fit) it will help a ton. I don't have rasp just loud exhaust this was with my custom ZPI system that I no longer have.

ok..sounds good. so correct me if im wrong:

weapon-r intake, STOCK header, meagan s pipe, megan midpipe, hks high power exhaust = NO RASP

or

weapon-r intake, current header, meagan s pipe, megan midpipe, 2 RESONATORS, hks high power exhaust = NO RASP

which is a better fix u think?

Rasp is gonna happen with header.

I have Weapon R intake,Weapon R header, stock cat, then 2.5 pipe welded to the cat and 2 12" resonators turned around to get the sound to bounce on the inner teeth(old hot rod trick to change the sound),then pipe back to Apexi can.Rasp is very minimumal at any RPM,but it is there,my can is still very new and has not burned up the glass in it yet and gotten loud.

I would suggest a High-flow cat, and at least two 14" resonators. I was told two 18" would fit, being stupid I bought before i measured.. lets say I lived under my car for a weekend to make them work.

I tried straight pipe to just a muffler =complete ___
18" Resonator to muffler = not as bad.. a little quieter
high flow cat with 18" Resonator and muffler = nice but you still get that mid rasp

I NOW have High flow cat, (2) two 18" Resonators and muffler.. and love it.. nice sound, nice growl when hitting it and barley any if any rasp.. and next to nothing when cruising at high speeds. (only problem is, you add maybe an extra 60lb worth the metal)
